Illinois and maybe Creighton are the only decent OOC games.

Don't think I'll get season ticket this year. Might just wait for an ACC pack or something.

Basically we'll go a month playing cupcakes and then we have @Miami, a week off, VT at home and then three days to get ready for @UNC.

Maybe it's a good sign. In years past we had to have a sneaky good OOC to get our RPI high enough to make the tournament. Maybe this year Gott is planning to just stomp a mudhole in everyone in the ACC so it doesn't matter.

Pretty much have to go undefeated in OOC play....lot of 150+ RPI (last year) landmines. Ole Miss, Creighton, St. Joe's about the only ones that are top 100. Illinois was 149 last year.

Shut up with the HB2 stuff. Who did we miss out on? Stony Brook from New York? Screw the New York teams if they don't want to play us because they are scared of our top 5 recruiting class. As others have said, looks like we need to win nearly every out of conference game as this is a weak schedule compared to most of Gott's. We definitely need an above .500 conference record, which hopefully we will at least be a couple of games above that.

While I don't disagree that there's a good chance a lot of high school athletes take steroid, DSJr and Abu aren't valuable because they're stacked with muscle. I think that's something you'd see more in football and baseball. Basketball is more of a finesse sport.

creighton and st. joe's (if we get a chance to play them) would be solid wins. everything else is "don't fuck up" games. hopefully one or two of those teams is able to challenge in their conference and be at least top 100 RPI.

I think that's a good spot to be. We can still use the "we're top 25" pitch to recruits, yet we still fly under the radar.

IMO, season really depends on (1) Smith staying healthy (2) One of the big guys stepping up at C, since Abu is (i think) mostly playing at the 4 this year. Not worried about the wings for once

We will be top 20, if not top 15 come ACC play Which is still under the radar.

16-0 going into ACC play is expected. Not hoped for, expected.

By that time lots of higher ranked teams will have 2-3 losses.

But Damn, the end of our ACC schedule is BRUTAL.

#23 is pretty spot on and a nice recruiting tool to have. Having such a soft OOC schedule will allow us to get Yurt eased into better competition and rotate DSJr and Henderson in and out as their health permits. We've got enough depth where we shouldn't have to rush them. This also buys some time for Dorn and Henderson to shake off any dust they've had sitting out.

We should go undefeated into ACC play and be in great shape. We've got the potential to contend this year for sure, but it's all hanging on how we expect guys to play and not what we've actually seen before.
