^^^that sounds unpleasant. When I had braces, I hated wearing the rubber bands, and I'd usually wait 'til shortly before the appointment and double up the bands. Terrible Idea for the pain.

he ate the power cord to my laptop last week (right before exams of course, when it is where I have my notes), so I ordered a new one and it just arrived. I go plug it in and make sure it works, and then jump in the shower- when I come out, he is eating the brand new one... I was doing that at night. I HATED wearing them during the day b/c they made me talk funny. I still probably only wore them <30% of when I was supposed to.

But it worked, I guess. I don't have to wear them (referring to the molar-to-canine/front-to-back style; not for the purpose of holding the archwire to the brackets) anymore.

If you've had braces, then this will make sense: I've got steel ties on every bracket now:
1) some because the gaps are closed and they now serve as anchors for other stuff
2) they're in conjunction with the springs. Before, the springs I had were attached at both ends to a bracket; now one end is attached to steel ties. It's MUCH more comfortable that way.

And I got an alligator chain on the inside over one gap
