well, 2 negatives in the same clause would be a double negative. the "so" marks the beginning of another clause, in this case, a result clause

what I told UPS:
Do not put the package on the truck, I will pick it up from your store at 11am.

What they did:
Put it on the truck, but told the driver not to deliver it! so I could pick up the package at 8:30 tonight.

My sister was dropped on her head when she was a kid, and she'd understand what the fuck I wanted. There was another guy there having the same problem too, and I really don't think it was that hard to comprehend.
