Yeah, I figured now would be as good a time as any to start them since I know they are addicting books. I got some time before summer classes start so taking a whole day and reading won't be too much damage.

I'm thinking tomorrow I'll just sit on the beach all day and read.

I also needed a book that was a little more grown up than those Percy Jackson books I was reading.

How many books are in this series?

10 as of this month. She's contracted for 14 atm.

and if you get really hooked, you'll read all 10* in a week like I did

*9 at the time, but I read book 10 in ~16 hours though I broke it up on purpose

haha good thing I have nothing planned this week

I need to figure up some great story that I can make last through several books. There is money to be made in these addicting book series.

ahhh you guys are making me jealous all i want to do is read (books that i like haha) but i have no self control when it comes to reading so i can't let myself start any books this summer or i'll read instead of study and then fail the bar (which i'm prob going to fail anyway but whatevs)

i can't WAIT until i can read again. i did some reading this semester but like always, it took away from what i was SUPPOSED to be reading. whoops. or i'd stay up until like 5am reading and be completely exhausted the next day. no self control

^^^that's my problem. If I start reading a book I like pretty much all my other obligations go down the drain, so I'm happy I have nothing to do this week.

Lol I want to join groups on facebook about how I support Gay Marriage just so I can annoy all those people who join those obnoxious conservative groups on facebook.

But I don't join them simply out of principle of not joining groups unless I'm personally connected to them.

Also, apparently Saturday night I went on a drunken rant about how I don't think gay people are going to hell and it was all caught on tape. Luckly I've been told I can view the video before it is posted on the internet.

^^ there is a girl i went to hs with who is uber conservative and becomes fans of groups that are anti-gay rights or anti-gay marriage and it drives me crazy but then i think she's fat, lonely, and lives at home and probably will never procreate because God would never want someone so closeminded to raise another closeminded individual. then i feel better

the eldest Duggar son Joshua didn't kiss his wife until they were married. Before they were married, they did the awkward side hugs a lot.

YES they did this too and had all these weird "rules" and "boundaries" like only one person could lay down on the couch at a time so not to tempt the other.

the duggars kind of creep me out but i'm not one to turn down reading an article about them.

this one couple is not going to make it (the one who went 6 months without seeing her fiancee). she's been nagging him the entire time. and her husband is a pretty mellow guy.

You can be an extremely conservative Christian and still have a phenomenal sex life. In fact some would argue that Christians in a holy union recognized by God have a more enjoyable and pleasurable sex life than those who simply fornicate without God's blessing.

i GUESS i agree but...is it phenomenal cause they don't know any better? i mean some really conservative christians don't do oral, don't do anything but missionary and think that shit like dancing together is FOR THE DEVIL so i don't know how many times they're having sex if it isn't for procreation. at least the ones who only do it in one position.

do you think whats her face duggar does doggy style? MAYBE. but i feel like she probably doesn't. jim bob probably doesn't allow it.

You would be surprised. There are a number of Christians who are extremely sex positive. The world has imposed many of the hang ups that Christians have and it has nothing to do with the scripture and what God intends.

yea that is true. i guess whenever someone says "conservative christian" i immediately think of the people i know that are "conservative christians" and they are like the "DANCE IS FOR THE DEVIL" kind

it would be cool to know some that aren't like that

so, I got bit by a tick yesterday while doing yardwork. I found it while showering and immediately removed it (head and all) so I'm guessing it was only in me for like 15-20 minutes tops.

Well today I have what looks like a mosquito bite at the location where the tick was, and I'm all paranoid about getting Lyme disease and shit. I was looking on google and it says a "bulls eye" rash will show up if you have Lyme disease - I dont have the bullseye rash now, but its only been a day. The bump looks like a mosquito bite, but doesnt itch or hurt in any way. I tried the old, put a burnt out match on the tick method to removing it.

Anyone else have experience with tick bites? is it normal to have a bump the day after removing a tick? I've never actually been bitten by a tick and I'm already a pretty paranoid person when it comes to shit like this. Plus, there has been so much other stuff going on medically with my daughter, I'm all worried and shit that it will be icing on the cake for me to get something random like Lyme disease.

thanks

HA, i found a tick on me today too (well jennifer found a tick on me), but it hadnt bit yet...thought of making an OFFICIAL SUMMER 2010 TICK COUNT thread, maybe i will now

but to answer your question yes a bump is normal, although pretty sure nrr would be more knowledgeable on this than me, its been about 10 years since ive actually had one bite me

you're probably going to be fine. no need to be paranoid.

next time you're working outside though use some backwoods bug spray (it'll say on it that it keeps off ticks)

get some with deet in it! go to an outdoor or sporting goods or hardware store to find it. NOT a walmart/target or drug store

i guess i find a whole lot more ticks on me and get more tick bites than the average person. a bump similar to a skeeter bite is normal.

well the thing is, I wasnt even in the woods, I was making a raised soil bed for my bell pepper and watermelon plants. I mean, we have some trees in the backyard, but nothing close to what would be considered to be "the woods"

yep! Very normal. Had one last year after the wedding, and it was on me for at least a day b4 I found it. Had a bump. Freaked out like you. Questioned every ache and cough after for 2 weeks. The bump started to itch, so I freaked out more. I'm fine

just keep an eye out on the place it bit you.

^^^ i usually get ticks on me gardening too (not usually as in i usually get them gardening but that is like WHEN i've gotten them)

i started using bug spray. plus i get mosquito bites like whoa so that helps too around this time of year. i think there's even all natural kinds that work well even against ticks if you don't want the deet kind (ya know with a baby and everything)

If you're worried about Lyme Disease or something, don't be if you got bit in North Carolina. Extremely unlikely. It is high-risk where I'm from though. Both my parents had it.
