Just had a mom and her (my aged) daughter smile at me for being nice to an elderly man. They then talked about how she should marry a guy like me.

Thanks wendys for making my day better

^^^ I think it was because there were 2 FF windows open and I didn't know that, and my e-mail was loaded on the first, then someone else logged in on the second, and it broke it when I tried to log them out and log in as me. I hope, anyway. When I closed the other window it worked.

When I ask a question about a particular detail, it would be nice if you actually paid attention to said detail.

^^ i guess. but not in the same way. if you are uneducated you MIGHT actually have a legit reason for acting in some way because you are ACTUALLY ignorant of something (whatever - i can't think of an example).

but if you are acting in a certain way and someone tries to defend you by saying that you are being lazy/unmotivated/whatever because you "can't see yourself through god's eyes" or are "angry with god" just isn't as legit of a justification for the behavior (not that being uneducated would justify laziness either) at least to me.

^ that is scary. glad you got it removed! i have some moles i prob should get looked at. boo for being freckly and moley. bigger risk of skin issues

I think that people think that lazy(sloth) is one of the worst sins. get over it.

so worried about production and worth to society.

Dear Chase,
I feel like I can call you Chase because you and me are so much alike. I would love to meet you some day. It would be great to have a catch. I know I can't throw as fast as you, but I think you would be impressed with my speed. I love your hair. You run fast. Do you have a good relationship with your father? Me neither. These are all things we can talk about and more. I know you have not been getting my letters because I know you would write back if you did, and I hope you write back this time and we get to be good friends. I am sure our relationship would be a real home run.

oh yea. i forgot sloth is a sin. now it kinda makes sense that religion came into the conversation.

geez louiseeeeee.

and yea there are worse things than being "uninspired" (i am using lazy too loose but that is the word the other person i was talking to used). people think that people like bartenders are lazy cause they don't have a "real job" but they work hard. and they provide WORTH to me lol. ughhh. people.

Worse things than not being inspired to better oneself? yeah but its high on the list to many.

But worth isn't solely work anyway. But its an easy measure. Not always very accurate though.

yea that is true.

i just don't like the religious explanations for it. i mean...if you are unmotivated i don't think its because you are spending all your time hating god/aren't religious (those are one in the same to this person). like if you admit god exists a light is suddenly going to shine down on you and you will live up to your potential or something.

and i think people get confused by the work measure. just because you aren't a CEO of a company or because you do something you love that doesn't make a lot of $$$ doesn't mean you aren't "living up to your potential."

reason for the validity of the statment. although they did not put it in a great way. Religions in general are based around purpose and working toward a purposeful life. You are made to do something worth the time and effort of being made. Its not saying you have to be a billionaire to be a good religious person. not very many rich rich people made out well in the bible. Its just that living stagnant is a state that is basically the opposite of what most religions teach. so overall, "if you buy into the system... you live by the system. If you don't live by the system you are obviously not for the system". Like calling somebody unamerican.

[Edited on May 18, 2010 at 5:50 PM. Reason : in retrospect, i may not have made sense since i refuse to read back over it.]
