If the Valvano stuff had been handled well and the local media/Peter Golenbock hadn't been huge dicks, then V would be challenging for the all-time win record right now IMO. If he stayed in coaching, he had the type of personality to do insanely well when ESPN and 24 hour sports coverage came on the scene.

I just find it laughable that Little or any of the other players on the take act like they would have automatically come back last season even if they weren't getting free shit and having their papers written for them. I've got to think that at least he and Austin would've been dumb enough to go pro, even if it would've been in their best interests to stay another year. The appeal of getting "champagne bottles like it's a giveaway" would be too great for fuck-ups of their caliber to pass-up. Their agent connections just made the decision to stay a no-brainer. What college student wouldn't jump at the chance to stay in college for another year, fuck hot bitches, have someone do your homework for you, have an agent give you cool shit, AND improve your draft-stock/future employment opportunities?

The reasons they were suspended, getting free shit and not doing their homework, likely directly contributed to them coming back for their senior year. Sure, if they don't do those things, they aren't suspended, but if they don't do those things, are they even there to get suspended in the first place?...I say no.
