The phone interview I had today went super well, and my 46 page solution to their structural engineering problem they wanted solved was VERY well received. They said it was the most thorough, well-structured, and thought out solution they had seen. They pretty much told me they wanted me there for the in-person interviews (I'm in round two, one of three candidates) and I think that they want to make me an offer (as long as I don't mess up the in-person interview).

This is great news, I really want to move back to the Raleigh area. I'm terribly thankful for the opportunity, even if it falls through.

Also, I haven't had any sleep (besides a 20 minute nod-off session while trying to read a book) since 7am yesterday. I'm kind of curious to see how long I can last, but I'll probably take a shower in about an hour and go pass the hell out. Gonna reheat some pizza and have some beers to celebrate what will likely be one of the things I'll look back on and say "that was a good decision, thank god I made it!"

That structural engineering problem they gave me was seriously the most intellectual stimulating problem I had been hit with in two years. It was almost, dare I say, a challenge? Enjoyable as fuck to be doing stuff like that again.
