bermuda shorts look horrible on me. i thought they'd look better (than regular shorts)

my thighs are pretty meaty. and i'm short. i dunno...that is just me though. i REALLY want to be able to look good in them but i think you have to be kinda tall and have small(er) hips. even if your thighs are meaty if you are tall you can probably wear them.

keep in mind though, AE is a brand for teenagers, not women. So the cut of their clothing is likely to be cut more for a teenage figure which might not be so ideal for someone who is curvy

^^ truth! which is why the bermuda shorts from there might be even worse. and the bathing suits kinda sketch me out. i'd probably be like a size 25.

i think i could wear the dresses though since i don't have boobies. i'm going to try some on, lol.

i bought a one piece from ae online years ago and i remember it being a lot smaller than i expected...so maybe go with a size bigger than you think

in fact i ended up never wearing it because it was too small. sucks

kadwhackle, i like the black skirt with ruffly shirt. it looks like it gaps a little in the buttons so it goes without saying to wear a cami underneath

ive been wearing a lot more dresses and skirts to work lately. i prefer them and finally said fuck it, i work with a bunch of men and if they oggle at my calves i dont give a shit, im tired of wearing ugly ass slacks and button downs all the time!!!!

/random rant

^^^ thanks! yes a cami is a definite!

^^ yea i don't wear shorts either. my thighs and butt have always been too big. even when i'm at my ideal weight like...i'm just too bottom heavy to wear shorts or something. they never fit right. i have to get them extra big around the waist just to fit my ass and thighs so it isn't worth it. that is why i like sun dresses and like jersey skirts so much during the summer.

you will never catch me in shorts (unless they are running shorts that don't hug thighs/ass)

Well after further thought I take that back and I'm gonna get this suit...

I know it fits because I have the exact same suit just in a different color...I just really want to get a suit with a different cut so I won't have crazy tan lines

Wolfy, I'm with you on the skirts to work thing. I used to worry about men looking at my legs, but it gets so hot here that skirts are just so much comfier.

I love long, sophisticated pencil skirts with peep-toe heels and simple tops. Not showing too much skin. Just classy and comfy.

Also, khcad, for maxi dresses, check out ebay (arden b makes a cute maxi dress), TJ Maxx or Marshall's.

I checked Forever 21 a month ago for a cheapie, but they didn't seem to have anything.

ladies... cycling has done wonders for my thighs (and the rest of my legs too). i used to hate shorts for the same reasons and now i feel more comfortable in them

try it!

and shorts with heels will flex some of those muscles and help you feel more sexy too

unless they're shorts you'd only wear flip flops with, in that case get the shorts that fit your thighs and have the waist altered

Cycling and running are great for getting your legs in shape for shorts.

Another thing to do is spend 5 to 10 minutes a day doing walking lunges and squats. They'll give you a little more definition in a little bit of time.

was it a burgundy wrap dress by chance? i have one in a large in my car that i ordered online and have never worn. i've been meaning to return it to the store....unless of course you want it.

Jen i love that cami, cardigan, shorts, heels set you posted. very cute!

^ hehe nahhh it was this orange one. but i think it is gone now. sadness lol. i LOVE the maxis on VS but i'm gonna check other places first (the ones i like on VS are all over $100). i will def check marshall's and tj maxx and ebay!

but VS does have dresses on sale now. i think i'm def ordering this one:

trying to decide if this would look cute on me if i have broad shoulders. sometimes straps look weird. like i def don't do cap sleeves so i don't know if this is too similar to cap sleeves (they have a million colors so i prob wouldn't get this one):

this is on sale for $19!! and they have a lot of colors. i just can't decide if i'm in love with the top of it or not - what do you guys think?

LOVE this simple dress. do not really love the $60 price at all though:

P.S. VS has a bunch of stuff on sale and free shipping through tom i think. just fyi!

I know I'm late to the convo, but I have a hard time finding shorts that fit, too... but I've had some pretty good experiences with the Gap and Old Navy (just have to look at about 100 different pairs before finding a good one). I have meaty thighs but I like them.

no, they just pump you up with vitamins that promote baby growth and stuff. you can prob get a lot of it in foods but the vitamins are recommended for those trying to get pregnant or current pregnant

but i dont see why a woman couldnt take them anyway, might have to get a perscrip from the doc but if you can afford it, i dont see why not

I used to take prenatal vitamins because they were awesome at strengthening my weak, splitting nails, but they made it so that my pixie cut got super shaggy within 3 weeks.

You can find over the counter prenatal vitamins at most drug stores. I know that Nature's Bounty carries prenatal vitamins and they are on sale all the time at CVS.

I think empire cuts are great for pear shapes. just have to make sure the top isnt too small and the bottom has enough flare that it doesn't cling anywhere.

i am a petite pear

so could i wear this? i mean i'm pear shaped i guess. i mean i carry my weight in my bottom half so i guess that means pear. but at the same time i'm petite so like too much of a flare will just swallow me. i think i could wear this though?! maybe? i'm not like "BOOM child bearing hips" or anything. i just definitely have more ass and thighs than boobs. but at the same time my shoulders are broad from swimming. but my whole body is petite proportion wise. i just don't know. buying clothes is such a chore!

i feel like it would make my booobs look good haha
