i do have a question for all of you weightlifters out there.... how sore are you after a normal workout? not a heavy one or a light one...but just a normal day...
i usually dont get DOMS that often i mean if i push myself really, really hard i may be able to get a little bit....

I HAVE AN APPETITE AGAIN!!!
After a small breakfast and a shake, I was starving for lunch, and went to gus sir beef (charlotte). I couldn't decide between getting something bland, or the ribeye that was staring me down. The ribeye won, and came w/ banana pudding, corn bread, stewed apples adn sweet tea. (I'm on a see-food diet till i get out of my post food poisoning/BAD norwalk virus stupor). I also had pecan pie.
Training wise...

I've only been doing one soccer game a week as my exercise, because of this awful pain in the joint of my right hip. I have no idea where it's coming from or what's causing it, but it's almost near debilitating. 1/27/2010 10:13:30 AM |

was quite fatigued this morning, had to psych myself out to do the first few exercises, eventually got into a groove and finished strong.

So i worked out this morning w/my trainer and afterwards puked. It sucked, i had to pull over on the side of hte road. The thing is, the workout wasn't really that bad, and I made sure to eat food an hour before i went. I had a little cereal, really not that much.
yesterday was bad though. Lunch was zaxbys chicken finger plate (fried chicken fingers, french fries, texas toast) and for dinner they gave us free pizza at the basketball and i had ice cream for dessert....I am horrible with my food choices. 1/27/2010 12:24:15 PM |

I eat a snack or small meal every 2 to 3 hours between 9 am and 7 pm. It helps me stay energized.
No eating after 7. Maybe a glass of wine for dessert. 1/27/2010 12:39:59 PM |

I know what I should be able to do, but through trial and error, I know what I can and cannot do. Therefore I don't eat in that timeframe before working out.1/27/2010 1:22:40 PM |

some of my best workouts are done first thing in the morning pre-breakfast...

I only work out on an empty stomach. Otherwise I feel like poo. Hence, first thing in the morning (no thanks) or right after work are the best times for me to work out.
Yesterday was upper body work out as well as 45 minutes of cardio at 80% max HR. Today will be lower body work out (legs) and maybe some cardio (probably cutting it short b/c I'm going to the bar later). lol. 1/27/2010 1:40:17 PM |

used to take an NO product, never really felt it do anything for me
i only take creatine mono, protein, fish oil, generic multi-v & joint support
To you PTs out there
Am I missing out on leg development by avoiding the back squat? I only do front squats as I feel I get a much better ROM & the movement feels much safer. My front squat is ~65% the weight of my full ROM back squat. I suppose I could back squat down on to a bench but I'm just quite paranoid about re-triggering my back injury.1/28/2010 10:32:27 AM |

i would say no. judging by your last leg post, you are doing lunges and leg presses in addition to the front squats. those three should round out the quad development just fine.1/28/2010 10:49:12 AM |

A squat is a squat. Unless you are training for something you need a back squat for, like PLing, many coaches don't even have thier athletes backsquat. 1/28/2010 11:10:35 AM |

why is that lol, everyone could benefit from taking a multi-v and fish oil. protein and creatine is really not that much for someone that lifts hard 4-6 days a week. that would be a lot of food to eat to get about 200 grams of protein per day 1/28/2010 11:44:50 AM |

yea, what I take is nothing compared to what I've read others take
you should see the logs, stashes, "gear" that some of these kids take, what I supplement with are more or less staples in the bodybuilding world. Doubt I actually even need a multi-v with as much whole food as I eat. I'm not a fan of liquid meals, I love substance for sustenance. I challenge anyone in here to an eating competition, be it a race against time, sheer quantity, taste, or "extreme"
i took an NO product for a few months after winning it in a sponsored log opportunity...some prop blend that in the long run, was a glorified caffeine pill
and yea, protein can prove a challenge if you don't supplement with a powder and you're on the go a lot, especially when you want to eat as "clean" as possible. I'm beginning to phase out deli meats now due to all the nitrate discussion...back to over roasted chicken breast salads when I eat out
i'm going to attempt to lean bulk after superbowl sunday...I'm currently eating ~2400-2500 cals/day...going to switch to 3500-4000 cals/day until summer hits or I feel I'm getting "fat" again, although I highly doubt I'll get fat working out like I do and only eating that much...plus I do a fair bit of cardio, which will only hinder my mass building...I don't want to get too muscular, just want to put on some lean mass and pull this loose skin up
currently 200lbs @ ~15% bf 1/28/2010 12:04:24 PM |
