Ha. He checked the turn. What a retard. After he bet on the flop, he would be down to 2/3 what he started with and would almost definately push on the turn. Knowing this I would probably push on the flop. He bet a big amount after the flop, so I wouldn't put him on something huge like a set. What do you do in this scenario if he pushes on that turn?

I dunno....I would have to think about it. I may end up calling due to a 9 giving me a straight as well. Im glad I got the free card though. If the 10 doesnt fall on the river, and I miss the flush and straight, Im definately folding.

I would not push the flop, you're obviously behind. Don't go broke in an unraised pot.

You should have raised preflop.

http://www.wizardofodds.com for war, 2+2 does have td stuff, but very little. its not really the big game as it used to be in the 1970s. most of the stuff will be 2-7 instead of a-5, and probably located in the "other games" form iirc.

badugi however is poppin up everywhere in mid limits mixed games, and may be the next game i try and take on. it seems pretty damn fun.

actually, one night at borgata we actually got a 20/40 lhe/lo8/badugi rotation game going...t hat was hot.

is it sad that ive done enough casino whoring that years later i still can rattle off bj, vp (job or a&f), and 3cp optimal strategies?

bj switch was my favorite, and they actually have it at casino royal in vegas, only place ive ever seen it live.

badugi is really, really fun indeed, you guys should try bringing it to your homegames to mix it up a bit.

i prefer it with limit, than pl, but of course, you could have figured so.

admitedly it gets rather confusing at first, and youll misread your hand often. but once you and your friends get the hang of it, its really really fun... i wish i could find it more, apparently the la casinos and a few in vegas its all the rage.

normally in mixed games, etc.

so are there any good casinos anywhere near raleigh?

I moved here a few years ago from Connecticut and only really know about Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun

??

casinos are illegal in nc, except for the indian joints, but they cant have real cards. even the bj tables are video. theres a group out of myrtle that runs a casino boat, and ive heard they have 5/10 lhe.. but its like 2 hours out and back for 3 hours gambling, not really worth it. there was a push to allow poker in the nc casinos, backed by harrahs, but the effor has sorta fallen out.

youre going to have to drive to atlantic city for a casino, or tunica, buloxi, and i think there may be card rooms in memphis or something.

asking questions like that, you sound like a cop. ahah

I didn't know if you had one on some Indian reserve around here

I'm not from around here
And I'm not 21 so I've never even been to a casino
I only have a couple months to go before I am 21 and I was just wondering

foxwoods is way too far.

you can drive to ac in 7 hours from raleigh.

plus, borgata is much much nicer than foxwoods, less wait, better structure for lower games too.

the women at borgata rival just about any place ive ever been to, their nightclub scene is drawing much of the party scene from nyc, good lord the scenery is nice.

my preference is to fly to phila, hop the train to 30th street station, hop the ac connector,

plan it right, its ~$100 round trip travel expenses and you can make it in about 2.5-4 hours depending on connections and if you check baggage or not.

I would caution you however about carrying more than a few thousand on you on those trains... it can get a bit dicey.

Dont sit with 2/5th a buy-in. Tough spot that hand if you did have a full stack, as it stands you played it correctly.

you have to be aware of how everybody has been playing. if he has been a tight ass, and just throws 5 bucks in off the flop with a straight draw, that should immediately arouse suspiscion. if hes just been throwing money around then he would have raised alot more off of the flop, so you would have had to make a different choice. i cant tell you what i would have done because i have no idea how he played the previous hands.

^^ Justin...I've dropped limits to .50/1.00 online and have been short buying for $50.

I have had more success with this strategy.

I tried that for a while. I'd wait to hit a flop and then go all in. I abandoned fairly quickly.

there has been talk of neteller pulling out soon, but I used them earlier this week for a transaction. I'm trying to keep all of my roll in PS/FT/UB though until the situation becomes clearer.

to the...................

taj?

surprised?

me too...

i think im gonna try the 15/30/30/45 7cs8 | 15/30 lo8 1/2 kill game today....

ive heard the action is better and its less of a home game than when borg gets the 10/20 2 way going, that game is the exact same 10 people every day, and i dont think im gonna get there early enough to get on the lis before they start. when they start, like 1 seat per 3 hours opens till they all go to dinner and the game usually breaks at like 9.

silly old people
