Flood warnings up all over the Triangle tonight. Think the dome collapsed in epic fashion.

Got decent hail last night east of raleigh. Havent looked closely but saw what appeared to be a few small dings . First storm I have ever seen where there was no rain to start at least it went straight from nothing to hail.

Yeah there was a supercell that rolled through eastern Wake last night with a 50,000 to 60,000 foot top on it.

Yep I ended up smack dab in the middle of it. Glad I was sitting outside watching it come in otherwise I wouldnt have been able to move the cars to avoid some of it.

Was at the Bulls game tonight. We were bracketed on both sides by storms. Eventually one came by and hit us with rain for about 10 minutes. No lightning, so no rain delay, thankfully!

Massive storm line going through now. If you are in wake county, youve got a few minutes for it is all.

Within a minute of posting this, our place/neighborhood got struck by lightning. It blew my APC UPS up, and that took out my desktop computer and my Vizio TV.

Now trying to file a claim with APC for the lightning warranty. I will have to ship the battery backup to them for them to check out, and then they will give me market rate for damaged equipment. I will probably take a bath on my PC as it was a home built with a Lynnfield i7 2.8 GHz processor that I have had for years but still ran strong. Probably not worth filing a renters insurance claim either as the TV was only $500 and that happens to coincide with my deductible.

If your renters insurance includes full replacement I would put everything that was lost on that. They have to give you the full value not depreciated. When my house got broken in my TV was damaged and they gave me the full retail amount from when it was bought, which ended up paying for a larger 3d tv today.

Flood advisory for Orange County. Pouring down rain in Chapel Hill now and headed east. Somebody better engage the Raleigh Dome or all the cars out of gas at Crabtree are fucked.

probably for the better, I am all for positivity when it feels genuine, but that kind of stuff usually just irritates the piss out of me.... but I can be somewhat of a grouch

Where we were, I felt like the thunder never really stopped. I was working up until about 1 AM, thundering. Woke up around 3, heard some rumbling. Woke up around 6:15, still thundering.

Must be what it sounds like living in Aleppo.
