I mean I grew up playing soccer and I love soccer, it's fun to watch imo. The world cup is just so much more fun to watch. It's great watching the intensity pick up after a goal is scored, it's great watching the awesome moves made. It's fun watching the drama that can happen during a game. I love laughing at divers. And I mean who wouldn't want to watch USA v England?

i grew up playing and watching soccer too. my cousins were way into soccer - like professional soccer. i don't follow it like the nba or anything though, i'll admit

i'd love to live somewhere else where soccer is big (so like anywhere else in the world) but whatever. i also kinda view it like the olympics. do i give a shit about bobsledding? no. but i love it during the winter olympics.

soccer is kinda different cause i actually know the rules. i mean i just watched the NCAA lacrosse tournament a few weeks ago. am i an avid lacrosse fan? meh. but i enjoyed watching the tourney.

does anyone remember the raleigh flyers? that was old school soccer shit.

soccer is more prevalent in larger populated areas here in the US, from my experience

I'm from a small town / county and there was no soccer to be found growing up

once i hit high school, the neighboring school, (much larger 4A) had a men's soccer team and was pretty popular. The rednecks at my school would always talk shit about soccer guys, but I'm pretty sure some of the soccer players I've met could stomp a mudhole in a redneck's ass

there was also an abundance of children's leagues in the neighboring county

as I traveled outside of the region, more and more, I saw that girls soccer was wicked popular in larger areas

I gave it a chance and enjoy playing but knee problems keep me from being competitive at it

I had fun at a TWW soccer outing with radhar, kiljadn, Shadowrunner and some others when I was at State

I've pretty much come to the conclusion that people dislike what they don't understand

soccer swimming and tennis were my competitive sports growing up

mostly swimming

but i still <3 soccer and tennis

i of course tried my hand at tee ball and basketball but i never really excelled at either of those ahaha. in basketball i played in the ymca league which is lame to begin with BUT i would wear two pairs of color coordinated socks to match my jersey

soccer and swimming i both did since i was 4 all the way through high school

tennis i just played in a summer league.
