What planet are you living on? Someone would have to be retarded to sell any of those bikes (unless they are salvaged) for that price. If you do find one, more power to you and a great buy. But the reality is that for 3 grand, your gonna get a 90's 600 bike. I'm sure ebay has a few r6's salvaged for a few grand.

selling my 2001 HD Night Train, not that I want to, but with a newborn at home, I have to be extra careful on the highway with all these cell phone drivers. Tons of Extras on the bike.

Hmm Mark VII, lets look at the numbers straight from the manufacturers websites, which is where i ordered everything...I don';t really know about now, but in 2001, you couldnt get a Harley at MRSP, tho i didn't pay a grand over the MSRP then which is the same as it is now..

2001 HD Night Train
MSRP (current and 2001) Vivid black $14,995

Performance Machine products
21" Front $899.95 & 18" Rear $799.95 Wheels
Matching Disc Brake $299.95 x 2
Matching Pulley $499.95
Front Caliper $399.95
Rear Caliper $449.95

total so far $18644.65

hmm still have White Brothers Lowering kit, Corbin Hollywood Solo Seat and P Pad, Pro1 Billet Mirrors, HD Custom Hand Grips, Samson BIG GUNS "Shorties" Exhaust and Heat Shields, HD Screaming Eagle Air Cleaner, Dynojet Jet Kit, Avon AM23 Performance Tires all to add...

in reality that does not make it worth that much....but to each their own, yeah I mean yeah it is not as bad depreciation as a car, but still. I am sure you will find some guy who bearly rides and he will love it. and think he has a bad ass bike, and put like 10 miles on it a month

The beauty of a Harley Davidson is that you can actually appreciate the value even after the bike is a few years old. I'm not sure of any other bike you can do that to. You can take a $15000 Harley and customize it with $5000 in custom parts and it is worth $17500 after 3 years.

well, i just was about to post a long wonderful writeup bout my bike but then my comp froze when i finished , so here are cliffnotes...

for sale: 1997 GSXR SRAD 600 with stage 1 jet kit and a k&n drop in filter, 16k miles...rebuilt carbs from suzuki when the jet kit was put in, along with derusting of gas tank (practically new tank), valve adjustment, new paint with flawless body work performed by a guy at a local body shop for 700. the mechanical work ran me 1000 dollars from suzuki. the bike needs to go back to the shop though, which my dad and i are taking this weekend back because it's running a little too rich with the jet kit, and needs additional tuning. the oil has just been changed along with plugs, and all that good stuff.

i bought the bike for 3000, then got the paint for 700, and the mechanical work as i just said ran me 1000 , they replaced a bunch of messed up vaccuum lines along with all the other stuff. No gear pop out, and it flies as well, i've had it up to 120 then got scurred . Not ridden hard at all since i was just learning on it for the most part, i have a 905 (280 dollars shipped) racing stunt cage installed that you can see in the picts, i put it on afraid that i would lay it down and mess up the paint, although i didnt.. it's a pretty easy bike to learn on.. i recently took my friends r6 out and drove it like mine and almost killed myself since it's a lot less forgiving in cornering and accleration, the jet kit doesnt open up till about 7k+ and below that the bike is pretty tame which i enjoyed.

so far this venture has cost me 5000, not to mention the cost for my gear... 500 and what not. i would like to sell the bike for 4000.

just pm me with any questions that you have, i have no idea when ill be getting the bike back from the shop though so i guess it's officially for sale after that (shops take forever, my dad and i will yell at them to get it done right though )

alright well im out later kids.

Kyle

I may be selling my bike in a week or two as I might be trading up for a newer bike

I have a 1994 Honda CBR600 F2
It has 14,300 miles on it and it'll be perfect as a starter bike.
Its in pretty good condition as an 11 year old bike. The bike has been dropped about 4 times in its life when standing still in a garage.
The front and rear tires are about a year old from what the previous owner tells me, but the thread seems pretty decent.
I'm Asking 3,000 for it as it is summer time and good time to have fun and enjoy the sunny weather.

You can PM me or email me at jeffbaz@gmail.com

"I'm still sorta negociating the price but somewhere in the 2500 range. The bike is in pretty good condition, maybe one or two scratches, about 13,000 miles. Works really good. It was the guy's first bike too, so I don't feel like i'm jumping the learning curve too much. Atleast I've driven dirt bikes before but 80cc is totally different than 600, that an its on a much bigger bike. Was overwhelmed a bit of how big it was compared to the pic (looked small), but it fits pretty nice. The guy had to get rid of it cause he got into more of touring, that and his belly kept hitting the gas tank.

Right so you can negotiate.

In general you should be able to get out of it what you paid, thats how it works with bikes, but I don't know anyone anywhere that in their mind could give you anything more than what you paid for it knowing it has at least incurred some depreciation since you have had it and especially considering you dropped it 4 times?

^^ I didn't drop it 4 times, thats how many times it has been dropped all together. I only dropped it once in the garage. The other 3 times was from previous owner in his garage. bike runs, still good. asking generally means i'm negotiable so if your serious, 3-2.5 is where its at. before I sell, I'm going to get a full service check and change the oil + filter

and i'm not sure if i'd sell it at this point, I'm just giving ppl heads up that its a possibility in the next week or two. Depends on if the guy I'm talking to is going to sell me his new bike.

Yea we get the picture, you found a good deal on another bike, and in your mind if you can turn some profit on this one and most likely the next one, then why not?

Any suggestions of free places to list my dirtbike for sale, other than craigslist? It's a 125cc 4-stroke, so my target audience is parents more than college-aged people. I like my bike, but I made the mistake of sitting on a Yamaha TT-R 230 at the dealership, and it actually fit me.
