The character relationships are a little bit off base, but that all started in the first movie. They are doing a better job with sticking to the reality that Jean & Phoenix have always been one in the same (X-Men: Phoenix Endsong took care of that). If this movie sticks to the current comic arcs, Jean will probably sacrifice herself to save the world.. again. It's kinda her thing. Rather strange that they are/might be taking out Cyclops and Professor X. But it's still a movie. Maybe Jean will pull a Wanda Maximoff and say "No More Mutants".. and... then End.

she couldnt use her telepathy b/c she was wounded and in a "holding cell"

There should also be a bad ass fight between Phoenix and Wolverine.

but they have definitely taken some liberties with the dynamics of the characters
i'm not saying its as bad as batman begins, but it ain't the purest movie they could have made

then again

i doubt there is a panel of modern comics that doesn't have the potential to retcon some established "truth"

^ I saw X1 Midnight, 3pm and 7pm all the same day, and the same for X2, except my 3rd showing was on that Saturday instead of Friday.

You sir are ignorant. In the interests of full disclosure, Cyclops and Wolverine are my two favorite characters. Cyclops has been butchered in these movies so that they can make more screen time for Wolvie and Storm. I wouldn't have a problem with this except I think that to truly appreciate Wolverine you need Cyclops as the foil (read Morrison), so by cutting out Cyke for Wolvie you really are doing Wolvie a disservice, and by making Cyke the nutless wimp he is in these you really diminish the entire story. And I wouldn't have a problem with Storm if someone other than Halle Barry were playing her.

I've said it before but Gambit is the most worthless X-character ever, I would rather see Maggot appear before him.

I've read there's Wolverine and Young Magneto spin-offs in the works. I think they should continue X-men movies w/o Wolverine and Storm (or at least Halle Barry). I think Cyke (or Jean or both depending on who dies), Beast, Angel, Collosus, Iceman, Kitty, Rouge make a strong enough team to carry on the franchise easy.

The only thing that sucked about that trailer was the scene with storm where they butcher editing her comment...there's nothing wrong...with any of us for that matter. What the fuck?

Yeah, I am not the biggest fan of Cykes, but he def makes Wolvies role work, and they totally massacred cykes character through out the movie...

I can't say Halle is best pic for Storm, but she does a great job with it. I always thought however that they made Storm to weak, in the cartoons and movie. To be so powerful with the weather she she get hurt and thrown around to damn easy

You all are going to stop hating on Gambit. He was the coolest of the X-men after beast. His one liners, always there in the crunch even when he was against what ws going on. The trench coat is that fire...There has always got to be that one wild hair, and Gambit was it...He could work with any character and simply fit in. No need to be a main role, but he could carry a scene or two.

Other than about Uncanny 200-250 (when they were in Austrailia and all that) and when they had the reshuffle of X-factor I can't think of a time when Havok has really been treated very well in the comics...I don't want to contemplate what they would do to him in a movie after the treatment Cyke has been given.

I just saw the trailor for this movie last night.

Holy. Fucking. Shit.

This movie looks like it will kick serious ass. I'm really pumped up and primed for it now.
