24 is one of the most popular shows on tv. this 'flaw' is the backbone of the show. the fucking point is to make it DIFFICULT to make a show like this.

Random prediction.. I don't think Jack is actually in a relationship with the kids mom, I think he just lives next door and maybe has feelings for her just because he wants to have a family again. But due to the mom saying she has feelings for Jack then Audrey assumes it goes both ways and drama ensues.

Good episode, thought the president's wife going out the window was too obvious, as soon as she went in the room I knew she was out of that place, no way she would kill herself. Also pretty obvious that the call made that wanted Jack to come first was the assassin. Oh well, maybe next week there will be more suprises.

Living there = living next door, where he was in the beginning. Jack treats his ladies better, he would have been happier to see her after he got back to CTU if they were in a relationship, I think he cares more about the kid.

there's plenty of examples, in addition to your 10 minutes around LA thing (CTU seems to be the center of the universe - everything is within 5 minutes of there), but driving places is the biggest, Including taking 22 seconds for Curtis to get from the airport Cent Com to "hanger BB", where minutes before there was an explosion big enough to blow a 15' hole in 12" of concrete, and a whole team of men and SWAT vans were driving in and out, in the same place Curtis said nobody had searched.

- the data analysis and transfer of information is obviously sped up (understandably, nobody wants to sit around and watch 'data-mining', which appears to be the word of the season, in real time). e.g. Within about 1 minute of CTU finding the picture of the main hostage taker, the President's staff had color print-out bound in notebooks in front of them at a meeting.

- meetings seem to get called and organized extrememly quickly, at CTU and with the Pres. Also, at this time the President seems to get by soley with the assistance of Mike and Walt.

- mrs logan went from dressed and made up and being very agitated, to in her pajamas and asleep in the middle of the day in about 5 minutes (from when logan left her room to when the Doc said she was asleep)

- 2 episodes ago Jack got from the catwalk of the airport into the main lobby in about 20 seconds

but i'm not faulting the show for this stuff. It's obviously a stretch, but it keeps things rolling. I actually read an interview with one of the writers a day or two, i can't for the life of my think of where or why i was reading it, but the interviewer questioned the same thing - asked that as the show has gone on, have the writer's felt more liberty to play with the real-time thing, and the writer point-blank answered Yes, they do bend the rules now for the sake of pacing and overall continuity.

I'm curious about the whole Mrs. Logan thing - i mean so Pres Palmer called her and told her he had to tell her something about national security. But from what she's said so far, he didn't tell ehr anything else, as in actual information that could be useful. Just that he had information.

-how and why exactly did palmer, an ex-president, had advance knowledge of a terror plot involving a baggage handler at the airport- and noone else did?

-why didnt jack immediately realize there was a mole somewhere when the airport terrorists stopped in their tracks and called him out?

-how long will it take the chinese govt. spies to call their embassy and send a ninja after jack? (ok kidding there)

-were michelle, tony, and chloe targeted for the sole purpose of bringing jack out of hiding? why kill palmer and frame jack instead of simply targeting jack then? why kill palmer at all?

There is definitely someone in the picture right now who isnt what they seem, you can count on that. Im not sure who yet though.

^ The president didn't resign, he was considered unfit for duty and therefore by law Login was sworn in to become president. Even if that president came back to full health after that point, all is moot now.

This was answered by the sniper that killed Palmer, he admitted to Jack that he only target Michelle, Chloe and Toney to bring Jack out hiding so that he could be framed for Palmer's assassination. Palmer was the only target the whole time.

when things like that happen, it's just temporary.

like if g-dub got knocked out and was in a coma for a week, cheney would be sworn in, but then when gdub woke up, he'd be president again.
