that would be a huge pain to try and accomodate 90 person blocks w/ the confirmation method, just seems like it would be a nightmare with all the possible outcomes.

Just glad to know that people who were too "busy" to come to the EKU you game and who think VTech is a good phone maker got UNC tickets.

Glad to see the system working.

i'm pissed off. Especially since I found out that the entire mass of people behind me at EKU who left in the 1st quarter received tickets.

plain bullshit.

But dude, they are doing the best they can given the limited time frame.

They only had all summer to come up with a system.

theres no good way to do tickets except maybe a campout, but i'm sure our university will go for that....

your only option if you want to be guaranteed tickets is to buy season tickets when they go on sale.

Yeah, me too.

This is odd. I login fine w/ my name, and then I logout and try to go on and print my roomie's ticket off (I have his ID and pass) and it gives me a 500 error. Any idea what's up? I gotta claim this today for him.

Tried IE, Firefox on a PC
and Firefox, Camino, and Safari on a Mac, all in the library, w/ no luck logging in with HIS name while mine works fine on all of them

Yeah, something's jacked up in their system obviously.

Lee, any way to know what's up? My roomie's gonna be pissed if he can't claim his ticket (and more importantly, so is everybody else that is in this same boat).

they sure would have

seriously people, STFU

would you like some cheese with that whine?

What gives you more of a right to attend a game than someone else? You make more noise? Maybe they are shy, or maybe they aren't a loud obnoxious drunk like you. So what, that doesn't mean they are any less of a fan than you. Granted however that you might have more of a right if you are willing to attend the lower games and stay the whole time. But for one, it wasn't feasible to do the first part of that, people would have been even more confused than they are now. And the second part would be way too much work, would have to scan tickets when people enter and when they leave.

Jacked up on our end too. I printed mine yesterday. The Ladyfriend can't get into the system from my computer now. This wasn't an issue before.

I'll be up in the belltower with an SKS if these tickets are fucked up. I went to the game at UNC and have been waiting a year to get over that.

^^that's fine, but I'm not making major changes, and most of the things people think are stupid really aren't....unless student senate demands a huge change, it won't happen

it's not my fault you don't like it, I couldn't care less to be frank

the thing is that it helps more people than the former system, and that's the bottom line...it's meant to be fair to everyone, not just to people who post on TWW

maybe I deserve a ticket because I go to more than just the carolina game. I haven't missed a carolina game at Carter-Finley or Keenan since I've been a student.

and the old system would have worked if athletics handled the vouchers and not trust students who will steal 70 voucher.

oh, I'm not saying the old system didn't work...I completely agreed that it "worked"

but the new system at least gives the opportunity for more to go to the game that want to...
and that all just really centers around being able to release a ticket if you're not going to use it, which is why you still have a chance of getting a ticket tomorrow and thursday

who the hell will release a ticket?

now, I'm going to have to scalp a season ticket at the gate. Old system just required someone to actually put effort into getting a ticket rather than sitting on their asses.

here's a solution, require people to claim their ticket within the first 24 hours. Enough of this two day bullshit.

so you're aware, a couple of hundred released their tickets yesterday, more today

just like in the old system, people are getting their friends to request tickets to increase their probability....not all of these people actually want to go to the game...and w/ this system they are turning in those tickets

i sure as hell know I wouldn't release a ticket if I had extras

and how exactly is the lottery conducted?

is the first one conducted based upon loyalty, or only the second?

hey dickwad, look what you quoted me on saying. I said just that:
Quote :
"Granted however that you might have more of a right if you are willing to attend the lower games and stay the whole time."

holy shit you are dense. And your statement is completely contradictory. First you say that you go to more than just the UNC game, then you make an explicit point that you haven't missed a UNC game yet. Which would give the impression that the UNC game is the only game that you really care about going to. Yeah, thats a real fan if I have ever seen one.

Shit, this is my 3rd year here and the Richmond game last year is the one game I haven't been to and thats because I had to attend a wedding in NY that weekend and I could not get out of going.

Quote :
"Old system just required someone to actually put effort into getting a ticket rather than sitting on their asses."

shit isn't any diff. buddy. All ya gotta do now is got off your ass and you can find a ticket. There are still people that do exactly what you said, they print a ticket no matter what if they win one and then give them to other people. You just gotta find them.

you need to learn how to read. I'm mad because I go the extra mile to get tickets no matter where the game is and yet we have fat asses who don't leave home snaking all the tickets.

also, get rid of block seating. There is no need for a group of 100 people.

^^wow, I actually agree with you on that second point (well about the groups of 100, keep the small groups)

and the majority of the "fat asses who don't leave home" arent "snaking all the tickets". They are too lazy to actually go to the games, as that would require effort. What they may be doing however is requesting a ticket for a friend as a backup for that friend. But as Lee has said several times, when the friend actually wins a ticket those fat asses just cancel / don't claim the ticket. Hence the tickets for the second lottery and the on-demand period.

I'm willing to bet that you didn't seriously consider rewarding people for constantly going to games.

You know,

So that if we lose to UNC and the bandwagon decides to skip the game afterwards, those of us who stick with the team would have a better chance at the next big game at CF.

I guess its fitting irony that the Carolina let-me-get-trashed-and-worry-more-about-cell-phones crowd is going to be at the Carolina game.

^as has been said before, it was considered. Just wasn't thought to be a good idea for this first season it is in use. Maybe for next year. Hell, you see the kind of problems that people have with the system now and the points and crap. Not to mention the tech problems with the system itself. Imagine how it would be with extra stuff in there.

there is a major difference between being forced to stand in line for an hour to get a voucher and sitting at home and clicking on the computer

^^^^calling me a carolina fan doesn't achieve anything. I hope you enjoy being at a game filled with freshmen who don't know shit about football.

But them clicking on a link is the same as them giving their id to a person that wants to go and is willing to stand in line.

the point remains that the people that didn't care to go before, don't care to go now. Its just too much work for them to go all the way out there. I know a lot of people who claim it is too difficult for them to log on and request a ticket. I'm like, "well good, you dont deserve one if you are that stupid."

We should have a football rules/nc state athletics history quiz when you register for the ticketing site. That would give the people who scored higher better chances to get tickets

^^ my personal experience tends to disagree with you.

Previous years, C-F had real football fans in the stadium that stuck it out no matter what till the end in hopes of a pack win.

Now we have people that are already too drunk to spell football and girls wearing their sunday best walking up and down the student section.

We also could hear the band. Nice bonus.

Are there any sort of #s available to us showing the average number of students who attained vouchers last year compared with this year so far. Remember that we were probably even more hyped for the team as a whole last year then this. It would be interesting to see...

^^yeah, good point. I just love the girls coming out there with there big sunglasses and high hills or cowboy boots. The past 2 games I've been to, the people around me were completely toasted and shouldn't have even been allowed in. They should have a damn breathalyzer at the gates and if you register over a certain point you should be turned away. Stadium would probably be empty but hey I'd rather that than have a bunch of drunks stumbling all over me making a fool of themselves

and as far as numbers go, they're on par w/ request from last year getting vouchers....almost the same in fact
