Parking downtown is going to be hell, but the one good thing about the HOF is as for now the funding is coming out of the tourism dollars, not out of local taxes- the poeple that come here to watch the races and visit the Nascar stuff are essentially the people who are paying for the HOF. At least for now...

I live in Huntersville/ Cornelius (right on the damn town line actually). Look at Admirals Quarters for a condo rental on the lake, it is on the border of huntersville and cornelius off of catawba.

if anybody is going to be near uptown in the next few days can somebody do me a favor? I was down there a few weeks ago and the condo was still being built (the bottom few floors) and I just want to know how far they have gotten...It's off of trade street between mint and poplar. it is good...i went last year...you buy tickets and each stand/restaurant has a few different items that cost a certain number of tickets...they also sell beer which i believe you can drink in the streets assuming you're in those few blocks where its happening...lots of people out there, dozens of restaurants/eateries around the city with stands set up...good time...$20-$40 and you'll be fine...hopefully it won't be 97 degrees outside
