clemson was over-ranked at #7, IMHO. they've struggled a few times this season against teams that they shouldn't have and GT really isn't all that great

i hope these type of people realize that clemson will go to the exact same bowl win or lose against us and south carolina if they win the acc title game. this game truly didnt matter to clemson. orange bowl is the orange bowl

Yeah. There wasn't a shot for an ACC team to get a second BCS bowl bid this year, not with a guaranteed 2 losses for everyone but the ACC champion.

The only thing us beating Clemson screwed up was any pipedream national title hopes they had, and frankly those just get transferred to VT (which has roughly an equal shot if they win out but it's still a pipedream).

If State lost:

Best bowl Clemson/VT can go to is the Orange Bowl against another top 10 team that isn't a national title contender (they have about .01% chance of making it the title game).

In order to have two BCS teams this year, the loser of the ACC Championship would have to maintain a ranking higher than No. 12 AFTER losing their championship game, which can only happen if there are slews of other losses in the top 25.

A 10-2 Stanford, Wisconsin, Michigan/Michigan State, Nebraska, Georgia, South Carolina, undefeated Houston, etc. would all be above a 10-2 Clemson or Virginia Tech. Period. Strength of schedule. Go whine elsewhere, Tarholes.

a 10-3 clemson team or 12-1 clemson team both end up in the orange bowl and nothing more. so that "huge" bowl for an acc team doesnt change. but im glad we pissed off the tar holes again because they dont know shit about football, or basketball for that matter.

Ok. I have to actually take back the Pipe-dream comment now. VT is number 4 in the coaches poll where Clemson would have been if they'd beaten us. If Arkansas loses they'll fall below VT (either way though, the ACC doesn't lose a thing).

Of course, if LSU loses they probably won't drop below VT, unless they lose badly.
