They said when the Seahawks were interviewing him, that they asked if he ever disagreed with a coach. He said yes. I wonder which coach that was. 12/23/2012 11:13:34 PM |

I'm a huge Russell Wilson, Wolfpack and Seahawks fan. And I'm not a TOB fan whatsoever.
However, I think TOB made the right decision by picking a Glennon to start over a fickle Russell Wilson. Although Wilson was a better QB, I'd rather have two years of Glennon over one year of Wilson. 12/23/2012 11:16:15 PM |

not only did TOB make the wrong choice, the coaching RW received was highly suspect. wanted to kill myself Wilson's second year when you could tell he was being told to stay in the pocket and he stopped scrambling as much.

Yeah two mediocre seasons instead of an ACC title. Great logic. Cost him his job and deservedly so. You don't kick a legend off the team period.
Seahawks two months ago are irrelevant. As of right now only NE and Denver are on their level. Team would have probably coasted through playoffs at home.
They'll probably draw nyg/wash in the first round in the 4/5 game who they can obviously beat.
Then hopefully Atlanta who has been a remarkably average team most of the year despite their record.
The tough one would be SF or Green Bay on the road presumably in the NFC championship. 12/23/2012 11:22:08 PM |

You can "what-if" all you want, but there was no guarantee that we'd have won an ACC title or made it to the conference championship. Go through your whole diatribe of the team we had and the talent in the conference, but speculation is speculation.
In hindsight, a lot of people hate the move for selfish reasons. RW did himself well to go to Wisconsin, get some exposure, put himself where he is now. Now that he's playing great, as some of us expected, we want to call him ours. Instead, we have to share. If RW ended up a flop, (still not outside the realm of possibility considering the flash in the pan QBs that have come and gone through the years) I don't think any of us would be in a rush to call him ours. 12/23/2012 11:27:36 PM |

There is literally a 0% chance he flops at this point.
The highest rated QB prospect ever out of college and hes already elite after 15 starts? Yeah just not possible that he's a dud at this point.
I mean yeah theoretically Tom Brady might suck next year and Mark ButtFumble Sanchez could win the MVP, but let's keep the conversation grounded in reality. 12/23/2012 11:44:20 PM |

Look, say what you want but VT was not good that year.
We definitely could have beaten them. Clemson murdered them. It is likely that TOB decision to cut Russell Wilson cost us an ACC Championship and his job.
All we can do now is pray that we aren't going to be victims of a curse that keeps us from winning the ACC for 86 years like when the red sox traded babe Ruth.
Firing TOB was definitely a good move to appease the Gods who control these things. Let's see if it helps.
Our football team is going to be absolutely horrible the next few years, so we are definitely paying the price now. 12/23/2012 11:55:02 PM |

It's always funny when a team is like ok we can't have you getting hurt so don't use the skill that makes you an effective player.
Be like telling Michael Jordan not to drive to the basket or Deion Sanders not to steal bases. I mean sure Mac & Cheese is more healthy if you don't add the cheese too

goalielax All American 11252 Posts user info edit post |
it's not east coast bias. it's statistical bias. RG3 has better stats pretty much across the board (sans TD #'s).
but Luck? he is their team. wilson has the #3 rushing offense behind him. the colts are in the 20's. lynch has more than double the yards of the colts leading rusher, vick ballard. in fact, ballard's 736 total yards is less than the DIFFERENCE between the seattle and indy rushing attacks.
he accounts for nearly 3 out of every 4 yards they gain. he has engineered 7 4th quarter or OT game-winning drives.
the seahawks also have a top 3 defense while the colts are in the 20's there as well.
wilson's had a good year to be sure, but he's the 3rd best rookie QB. hell I want RG3 to win for selfish reasons, but I think I've convinced myself luck is better after looking at all the statistics

Colts have a ridiculously soft schedule, and the team around him isn't nearly as bad as we were led to believe. I mean, look at all those interceptions. Clearly the defense is stepping up in some bad situations to not give up too many points on those turnovers. 12/24/2012 10:46:38 AM |

Colts have much easier schedule, and Wilson has better performances against common opponents. Luck interceptions are atrocious, too.
Right now, you'd easily want Wilson over Luck on your team.

You're correct. You could make a solid argument they are only better than 5 teams in the NFL.
Wilson and RG3 are both top ten QBs this year obviously.
Luck is a borderline top 20 QB.

Luck has over 4,000 passing yards
Wilson doesn't even have 3,000
also Wilson throws a pick once every 37.4 pass attempts, Luck throws a pick once every 33.3 pass attempts...not as staggering a difference as the 10 INT to 18 INT total difference
^where are you getting your top-10 and top-20 numbers? RG3 and Luck are both fantasy football top-10 QBs...Wilson isn't a top-10 fantasy QB
