I guess this is a good example of not judging a book by its cover. Purvis looked happy and like a really good and happy teammate on the court that was a team player. Apparently that was all an incorrect assumption based on various reports.

I think it's more of a case of not really knowing someone's true character until they have to deal with adversity. He was all those things and more when he was getting plenty of minutes and the team was winning.

FWIW, the same people on PP who were saying purvis would transfer weeks before he did mentioned that certain players being treated differently than others was a contributing factor to purvis leaving. giglio brought up this point the other day as well

Regarding the Ollie follows and unfollows. I know there are rules and there shouldn't be contact before a guy is officially released. But if Rodney knew he wanted out and contacted Ollie, what's the big deal? Do you really think Ollie talked him into leaving or do you think he wanted to leave and Ollie was happy to take him? Let's not be hypocritical, we were the ones all up in arms when Frank Martin wouldn't let that South Carolina guy come here last year. If guys don't want to be here, we shouldn't want them here and college kids should be allowed to transfer if they don't like their situation. Restrict him from directly competiting against us, otherwise wish him well as Gottfried and Yow did.

Let's move on from Purvis.

I'm completely calm, all those stressed out about ollie-gate and tampering and all are the ones causing a fuss. I am disappointed to see him go but time to let it go and move on.


Responses to below:
1. Why would we not let him go. Let him go where he wants outside of the ACC.

2. I'm not attacking you personally, my post was directed in general to all the talk of Twitter and Kevin Ollie tampering etc that I've been seeing here for the past few weeks. My point is, do we really care even if he did tamper? Would we punish Purvis who didn't want to be here and wanted to be there? I say no. We want guys who are happy here and want to play here.
