Will SW8 write Leia out of the story? Either an attack on her base in the opening scene or a throw away line? Or will they try to CGI her and fail? Or ignore her entirely?

Plus now there's no parent to save Ben Solo's soul, so Luke will have to be the redeemer again, or it will turn out Han isn't actually dead.

If they want to acknowledge Carrie Fisher's death they would do it with an Ep8 reshoot...Ep9 is 3 years away and by then the fans will have likely gotten over it.

I guess it could be the opening line in the Ep9 crawl... "General Organa is dead. The rebllion blah blah blah"

No, not really. As I stated in the other thread though, I think they could have limited Tarkin's involvement, but they did a great job otherwise. This raises a big moral question though when it comes to actors and actresses. I wonder if they are going to start putting something in their contracts that state that a studio cannot return to their likeness once they die.

Otherwise, let's bring back Harold Ramis and do a real Ghostbusters reboot.

Or lets bring back Anne Ramsey as Mama Fratelli for a Goonies sequel.

Unfortunately here the possibilities are endless, but should they even be considered?

I think if the character is nearly essential to the plot, I say CGI-away. I thought Peter Cushing's and Fisher's likenesses were very well done and did not take away from the film at all. Tarkin was essential to the plot of RO. You had to have Leia in there as well at some point, albeit briefly.

They let a stormtrooper walk right into their main base with the highest level of clearance and immediately let him start calling shots on their biggest mission ever. This movie gets worse with each watch.

How many people from Alderan have we heard speak in any movie? Leia wasn't born there, plus her accent was different in each movie so it's hard to know which one she was supposed to have. Plus different languages and dialects probably exist on every planet, how many languages were there on Tatooine alone? (And I'd say Earth is a pretty good example of that as well, where multiple dialects exist within each country let alone an entire planet)

I think we've been over this before. Suspension of disbelief in scifi or even fantasy is not an excuse for unrealistic plot narrative. There are spies/informants in the cantina so its definitely a concept they have accepted.
