I don’t see how you could make a case for any 2-loss team being above an undefeated Power-5 team at this point (looking at you Auburn and Stanford). Hopefully we can be top-15 by the time we play Clemson so that we can get some good pub for a little while.

Well, if we're complaining about where teams are ranked, Texas shouldn't be in the top 10, Michigan shouldn't be ranked because they're awful and App State shouldn't be receiving votes.

We have to wait until after we've faced a top-10 team before complaining about where we are. A win catapults us to top-15, a loss knocks us out of the rankings. But if we do as well as those predictions above say we should, we'll be back in a couple weeks.

We beat Clemson and run the table and single handedly keep the ACC out of the college football playoffs. Especially if Notre Dame runs the table as well.

Clemson beats us and runs the table and gets in the college football playoffs because they are Clemson even though they have pretty much zero quality wins except Texas A&M who won't even be a top 25 team by the end if the season...

I could see an unlikely scenario where Bama, Georgia, Ohio State and WVU get in ahead of us, if WVU, OSU and Georgia are undefeated and Bama's only loss is to UGA in the SEC title game. But I doubt WVU runs the table.

We do the thing every year where we say “if these 5 teams go undefeated and these 4 teams have 1 loss all hell will break loose” and I get it...but it seems to sort itself out by the conference title games. Everything comes into focus by then.

Colorado is also playing @USC this week, which could be a loss. And this week LSU is hosting UGa, so that’s another chance for them to lose and hurt their chances at having gameday.

What is that even based off of? Other teams, using that FPI metric, being predicted to be undefeated? Because if we’re 12-0, and we’re being compared to a 1 loss conference champ then I don’t see any way we get left out. If you’re comparing us to like 4 other undefeated P5 teams, then yeah...I could see that.

That HAS to be assuming we don't have 4+ undefeated teams.

It's entirely possibly you have the following undefeated teams(they don't play each other):
Bama/UGA(1 of these 2)
tOSU
ND
WVU
NCSU/Clemson(1 of these 2)
UCF

That is 6 viable undefeated options, with 5 of them having a conference championship game.
IF somehow NC State went undefeated and won the ACC Championship Game, we'd be 11-0 with a P5 conference championship with wins over 1/2 ranked teams and no P5 OOC games.

No way we'd be in over Bama/UGA option, tOSU, or ND in this scenario. I'm honestly not sure who would get the final spot of WVU, NCSU, and UCF without doing a deep dive into schedules and such, but I know that we wouldn't be ranked higher than those 2 in the AP poll simply because they started ranked higher(I know, BS excuse but it is what it is).
