UNC would never fire Davis for not being able to beat NCSU. They're so smug and pompous with their hiring of Butch Davis that as long as they have decent winning seasons, they're content with feeling like a "sleeping giant."

If by some miracle we beat them again this year, they'll throw their baby blue blinders on and deflect, justify, and make excuses. Then they'll go on to boast their superiority as a program and University as they revel in what could have been.

well, over the last 25 years we're 13-12 against them, but of our 13 wins, 8 have been over there and only 5 in Raleigh. We play UNC much better over there the last quarter century. We have won 5 out of the last 16 in Raleigh (That's not a good %).

That's what I always laugh about. UNC fans will say "now that RW is gone, things will go back to normal...blah blah". When in reality Daniel Evans is the QB who started the streak. I was listening to Adam Gold and Joe Ovies a few weeks back when they were discussing the RW/TOB situation and were joking about how State hasn't been able to beat UNC without Wilson or Rivers. Someone called in and quickly corrected them on the Evans win.

Yea, and we've won 2 of 2 in CH. Also scoring more points over there avg. wise and holding them to fewer points avg. wise compared to Raleigh...Thanks for proving my point beyond the W-L obvious statistic.

^^^, we beat them despite Evans, not with him. He threw two touchdowns to UNC players that game. UNC was also 4-8 that year I think. But yes, it's funny when radio shows forget that TOB's best year (9-4) is better than Butch's best, and TOB's worst is not as bad as Butch's worst (4-8). I never see that get mentioned.

^Oh you're right. My point with Daniel Evans was simply that Russell Wilson isn't what prevented UNC from beating us, contrary to what their fans may say.

I think the most important thing to notice in the past 4 games is how our staff coached circles around theirs. Thats the real thing to take away. Sometimes talent can overcome bad coaching but its hard to overcome bad coaching against good coaching.

also, our team is the "deepest" it has been (with respect to having a scholarship player backing up every position)

the way i see it, we have only gotten stronger with players who are more or less below the radar. meanwhile, UNC has been stubbing their big toe on the coffee table with a bunch of 5* dumbasses.
