I had been debating just calling, but decided against it against 3 people.

It just seems so hard to make a profit at low limit online games.

Gotta grind it out...Wait for sets, etc....Or you could play MTT's and just wait for a big score.

Could I have played this better. Emphasis on Pilgrim's opinion, because I'm playing limit here.

Just recently sat down, so no real reads on anyone.

I'm UTG (6 handed) with A-A
I raise
2 calls
SB re-raises
BB folds
I 3-bet
3 calls

Flop Kc-Jd-8d
SB checks
I bet
All 3 call

Turn Qs
SB Checks
I bet
2 folds
SB Raises
Fearing a sleeper set, I call

River 3d
SB bet
I call

__

He flips over Q-Q. Should I have gotten out on the river or is it worth a try since its only 1 BB? Should I have raised the turn?

yay limit time.

so, for the sake of the argument, lets assume that the opponent has a range as wide as mine in this situation, and ill give the range that ill call from the sb with in a sh limit game with that many callers. in order for this range to be profitable, i have to be up against at least one other loose player who has shown the willingness to pay off a bigger hand.

this range will be AA-77, AKo-ATo, AK-ATs, 78s-KQs 0 gappers, 79-KJs 1 gappers.

so with this flop and turn, your value against this range is

Board: Kc Jd 8d Qs
Dead:

Hand 1: 58.6728 % 57.18% 01.49% { AA }
Hand 2: 41.3272 % 39.84% 01.49% { 77+, ATs+, KTs+, QTs+, J9s+, T8s+, 97s+, 87s, ATo+, KQo, QJo }
"

the way i see it, due to the action, a raise may be slightly profitable, but is not correct. calling the raise is profitable, alog with a call on the river.

i dont see how a 3 bet on the turn or a raise on the river is best, you are fine.

yeah esp. with the threebet, i dont see how you can raise the turn or river.

you have to call down there, and be prepared to lose like 50% of the time.

i didnt post it, but before i left this morn i ranged it with AA-TT, AKs-AQs, and AKo in that spot, and its still like 55/45.

on par with what david is saying, ive started doing that to joke around sometimes.

someone will raise me in a limit game, and ill move 2 stacks out or something, attempting to raise to $200, then acting dumb like i didnt know i couldnt.

only do it with certain dealers whom i like. irritates the old men, but the dealers and i think it's funny. rarely also.

i also pissed off an old man the other day when i didnt even have cards, but knew the dealer wasnt paying much attention, and i threw the chips out for a riase when the action would have been to me. dealer annoucnes raise, the guy next to me calls my raise, ahaha

original bettor is pissed, my raise doesnt stand =(

i thought it was hilarious, so did the floor behind me.

im an ass.

I'm surprised the floor didn't get pissed. This must have been at like 3 am or something. Most floors wouldn't be happy at you inducing action.

You make the call. Replay this hand for me. Tonight at a 1/3 game, I limp UTG with AA. UTG +1 raises to $15. 6 callers for $15. I raise it up to $58 to go. One guy is hesitating the call, but eventually calls. Everyone else folds. There is roughly $150 in the pot, and I have about $100-$110 behind me.

Flop is K K 5

We both check.

Turn is a 6.

I bet out $30. Guy puts me all in.

Whats our play?

Hishhhhhhhhhhh,

There is $200+ in the pot and you have about $70 left, so a total pot of $340.

Fucking call!

Even if he has a king, you can work your David Blaine street magic(tm) and summon an ace on the river.

I ended up calling.

The guy flipped over K10. I was shocked.

I kept going off on the guy until turner and karim finally calmed me down.

I think it stands for Dirty South Improv. Greg Brainos was a member, but I'm not 100% sure that is his screen name. He's known for such hits as "Monster in a Wheelchair" and "Chinese Army". He used to play with us years ago when Turner and I just started out.

^ Justin, Even if I would have made it $15, 6 people would have called, which is why I limped, trying to pick up the pot there, or isolate one person.

I know, much worse play by him calling your transparent raise. I just constantly see every noob move in the book when you post hand histories. It's an alarming pattern.

Yeah, it's transparent as fuck, but you'll always get some retard to call you who can't lay down their overpair/top pair. Next time there is just one K on the flop, the guy will lose he whole stack.

personally i probably would've raised harder pre-flop. you got six callers to a standard raise, with a-a i'm looking to basically take the pot right there, or get my money in when i still have the best of it. I'm actually really surprised you had only one caller of that raises despite having 6 callers to a raise of more than 1/4th that. I would've raised at least 60%more, but I probably would've gone all in right there.

Although I'm really a limit player, so i pretty much suck at that kind of timing, and everyone will probably say I'm wrong. But for me I'd rather take that pot right there. I feel much more comfortable playing a huge pot with a creative hand, not a rock.

and btw limp raising with aces is sooooooooo obvious (i like to do it with a-k occasionally though, only a-ks in limit).
