i kinda thought i'd make a chunky homemade salsa, like super-fresh with chunks of tomato and onion and green pepper, cilantro, lime juice...and i figured i'd use that as the "sauce" on my pizza. but now i'm realizing that's not feasible. and i dunno what i'm gonna do now

Well, I am not using a sauce per se at all. You could try that method. The toppings have a whole lot of flavor, and I don't think you'd miss the sauce too much.
