The sooner you accept that the glory days have passed us by and we will always be mediocre, same as football, the happier you will be. We aren't going to win anything of note anytime in the near future. Gott may not be great but he has us a hell of a lot better off than we have been. May as well just keep the consistency and hope when K, Roy, Boeheim, Pitino, etc retire maybe we will have a window to move up into the top tier but until then just keep hoping we end up on the right side of the bubble and enjoy a few tourney runs.

Bennett was never really on our radar (for whatever reason), but yeah we could have had Greggg just like we could have hired Jimbo instead of TOB and Donovan instead of Herb (or we should have targeted Donovan).

We just suck at hiring coaches, but Gott is easily our best hire between football and basketball in two decades. Yeah this season will be a real shit one to watch, but he does have DSJ coming in and we can hope that leads to success next year to get the recruiting back on track. Damn you Bam Abayeo or however you spell his damn name.

^^ Next year having Henderson healthy, DSJ as a freshman, and Dorn eligible should immediately make us a much better team. Abu has looked better of late - would be nice if we could land a big man recruit who can score though.

This year just kinda sucks. Coming off of a Sweet 16 run we had Lacey leave early and then Henderson get hurt. If Martin & Rowan can shoot the ball well we still have a decent team this year, but when they're off we get no other offensive contributions from anyone outside of Cat.

Outside of the FT problems, my biggest issue is the defense. Losing Turner & Lacey shouldn't mean we go have from having a competent defensive team at the end of '14-'15 to having a shitty defensive team in '15-'16.

duke unc louisville syracuse and miami will stop playing basketball once their current coaches retire

theres no way cat should stay now. i was wrong from early in the season when i thought he couldn't consistently score 20ppg against good competition and i also thought he couldn't hit the 3 at all really. In my fairness, it took him like 10 games just to make 1 3. he made like 4 3s tonight and is averaging 22 and 5 now. its a nobrainer

Duke and unc will always be good. Duke has a long line of great coaches that are waiting in the wings and will the most highly desired coaching job in all of college sports. UNC job would be right up there as well. Miami is up and down. Pitino still has a bunch of years to go.

I definitely think we're greatly improved with DSJ, Henderson healthy, and Dorn eligible, but it would be pretty great to find a post player recruit/grad transfer who could score the ball with any sort of regularity. If Henderson was healthy we'd be probably 2 wins better just a result of not having to run Caleb Martin and Rowan out there to brick the hell out of some 3's on their way to shooting under 30% each game, but Anya and Freeman are still the exact same players they were 2 years ago as freshman and Abu has no touch on any of his shots.

My only hope for the rest of this season is that Cat can keep going off on his way to being a 1st round pick.

No real coaching complaints tonight other than not fouling quicker at the end of games. Mostly recruiting complaints because we just don't have guys that can knock down shots. I give them all credit for fighting to the end each game.
