What happened in the last five minutes?


The tape in my VCR ran out. The last thing I saw was Sayid coming in to tell them that he found the french woman, and then it cut back to Claire and the rock and roll guy walking in the woods for one second before it ran out.

Claire and Charlie (rock and roll guy) were walking in the woods and all of a sudden Claire started having contractions. So charlie said he would help deliver it meanwhile he confessed to used to having a drug problem but he was clean now. Claire yells at him to go get Jack (the doctor).
Charlie runs off through the woods and comes across that Ethan Rom guy (strange guy Hurley interviewed earlier). He tells the Ethan guy to go get Jack b/c Claire is having her baby. Ethan gives him a strange look and says OK. Charlie runs back to Claire and she is feeling a little better and the contractions have stopped. Claire tells Charlie about the psychic and she realizes that the pyschic knew the plane would crash which is why he demanded that she be on that particular flight. If she was on that flight, the plane would crash and it was ensure that she raised the baby and noone else (like he wanted to happen). Charlie then tells Claire that Jack said a false pregnancy could be initiated by stress and that she needs to calm down.. Claire is fine for the time being.
Meanwhile over at the caves, Hurley runs up to Jack and says, "you gotta see this, check this out dude" and Jack says what? And Hurley explains that he got the manifest (list of passengers ont he plane) and one person that he interviewed on the island was not on the plane.
It then cuts back to Charlie and Claire in the woods and that Ethan guy walks up and says, "hello". Or something strange like that and Charlie asks where Jack is or whatever. and that Ethan guy is giving a weird look. The episode ends

i kept saying throw claire off a mountain. her nightmares and shit were pissing me off.

how did sayid get all beat up? i didnt remember that happening.

and when they were looking for claires attacker, one of them had a flashlight. whered that come from?

That would have required the other 40 people to have sat down and all discussed it. Example: Suppose Jack sees Ethan Rom and realizes that he doesn't remember him being on the plane. Well, does Jack recognize all the survivors from the plane? Surely not -- especially when you consider about half the survivors were probably in first class and the other half in business. Basically, what I'm saying is that none of the survivors would have remembered everybody but one guy. So it's not until Hurley starts inventorying everybody that it becomes clear.

yeah this morning i was trying to figure out what else ethan rom could mean also. good job.

also, i'm pretty sure a flashlight would be a common thing to have on an airplane. Just seems like one of those things that would be on there. Not to mention out of all those people on the plane someone could have had a flashlight in their bag.

WHAT IF: the show wants to make you think the Ethan Rom guy was the guy not on the manifesto...however, it is someone else you totally don't expect... I could see that happening...just a thought

i knew that something was up with the ethan rom dude as soon as hurley started talking to him. i mean, everyone else it shows hurley talking to was a character we already knew, why introduce just this one new guy unless he's going to play a bigger role later?

this was a pretty tame episode until the end, and then it got fucking crazy. dammit tv.

I think Ethan was from the French group or was there before. He couldn't have been in first class. They are all dead in the woods with the pilots.

I hate the pack rat guy. The actor is very handsome and went to the University of Georgia.

I think we will get some answered next week. I kind of wished I had not gotten into the show and just bought the DVD when it came out. The wait is kinda hard.

i think most of you are taking lost to literally. there is definitely some supernatural things going on. but i think the whole show is symbolism for good vs. evil. claire's baby might be the antichrist (as someone above posted) if he is raised by someone other than claire. presumably that would be ethan rom, who is not actually human. i also think that locke is not human either.
anyhow, that psychic obviously has some talent, and obviously saw something VERY VERY bad about that baby if he wanted to make them get in a plane crash.
