My roomate loves whatever lucas does.
his reasoning being that lucas gave us starwars in the first place, so he can do whatever he wants with it. Granted he doesnt like greedo shooting first and some other minor changes lucas did, but he is devotly loyal to his opinion.
I on the other hand cannot stand the lack of acting in the first one. The only thing that saved the first one was the end jedi fight scene, thats about it. Pod racing was kinda kewl, but Jar Jar was present at the time.
Epsiode 2 is better as a whole but nobody even tried to get emotions out of Hayden Christensen and Natalie Portman. I mean really, I could act better than them. Natalie Portman especially! jesus H. But maybe she is better in the third one.
Hayden Christensen had his moments I guess. But its almost like they want him to be emotionless. Same thing with Orlando Bloom in Kingdom of Heaven.
Same old rant I guess 5/16/2005 10:11:49 PM |

I have a question, the people Luke is living with in "A New Hope" Star Wars 4 they are his aunt and uncle. So is his uncle the same person that is Anakin's step brother in episode 2 Attack of the Clones. 5/17/2005 1:30:24 PM |

^Correct. In Ep IV, he calls them "Uncle Owen and Aunt Beru"
In Ep II, Schmi Skywalker's husband introduces them to Anakin and Padme as his son Owen and his girlfriend Beru. 5/17/2005 1:40:33 PM |

just saw it...working at a movie theater has its priveleges. also, I would like to add that Revenge of the Sith is probably the worst or close to being the worst in the series. lack of good acting, entire movie made in cgi, little vader screentime, too long among other reasons too numerous to name. i think george lucas should have let someone else direct the last three made. to me it seems that there is a lack of passion in the newest part of the series. little is left of what made me love the origonals except for the lightsaber. in short save your 8 bucks and rent it. 5/18/2005 3:58:03 AM |

I've said it before (and I'll probably say it again), but Craig D. Lindsay has to be the worst critic in the country to be working for a major newspaper. I'm still not sure how that guy got hired by the N&O. 5/18/2005 9:34:12 AM |
stuck flex All American 4566 Posts user info edit post |
Yeah, the N&O reviewer is just about the worst excuse for a human being on the planet. His reviews are inconsistent, he would give one really good movie 2 stars and then another crap movie 3.5 stars.
I mean seriously here is just a taste of his review of ROTS...
Quote : | "He misses so many chances for some grand-scale dramatic tension in favor of speeding up Skywalker's transformation from Jedi to Vader that the movie becomes, well, mild. (As one of my sportswriting colleagues noted when I described the film to him, it's a 50-inch story that's really worth 15 inches -- hey, it's newspaperman talk!) With "Sith," you're basically watching computer-generated, sci-fi porn. " |
It's funny I could almost take out any reference to Star Wars in this clip and make it a review of his column...

the story line at the beginning was way fast (events happened really quickly) but that was to make sure they gave enough time for the kickass ending.

can you really complain about cgi yoda?
sometimes the interactive cgi locations are a bit annoying where there is actual live action being done on a cgi background
