Dear Craig Adams,

Please go away. You don't impress me. Just because you're buddies with Jason Karmanos doesn't make you NHL-caliber.

kkthx

You obviously didn't see Craig Adams making the hat trick for Kevyn on Thursday.

Today he didn't look too good, but no one not named Justin Williams or Ray Whitney did a damn thing tonight.

^no, I did see it, and I give him credit for that. unfortunately, his cons outweigh his pros. he has more off-nights than on. I'd like to see someone else called up (e.g. LaRose) and given a chance instead of him.

[/my 2 cents]

I agree about LaRose deserving a call, but Craig's got more business being here than Ladd right now. Ladd had some nice hits, but he was wholly ineffective as an offensive player. No one was working the surface laterally, but he wasn't even close.

ok..we're officially on a skid here...injuries really really demoralize the team. its time for other players to step up.

wheres the energy?

considering all that were scratched last night - Rod Brind'Amour, Josef Vasicek, Glen Wesley , & Niclas Wallin... All key players that would have made a big difference in last nights game.

Williams did play well but that was about it...
they started to wake up in the 2nd but then... nothing
attendance wasn't too great, and the stands started to clear out midway thru the 3rd. fairweather fans. maybe if they'd stay and make some noise rather than get up once they think its a lost game.

that midget St.Louis needed to be laid out last night. little fucker.

Throw Whitney (groin) and Ladd (knee) on to the pile of injured. On the upside, Wesley might be able to go tonight.

Erm, we've had a winning record in four of those seven years, made the playoffs three times, won the division twice, and won the conference.

I was in 124, sitting right next to a Senator's fan. But we didn't say a word, so it was all good. Except for the losing part.

good god where to start...

the lethargy can be attributed to little rest ove the past few days. that and the shitty ice.

no calls galore.

and staal is a mother fuckin beast.

the only time i saw inspired play last night was after staal scored that first goal. Then we got the 2nd pretty quickly because we were attacking. Our penalty kills last night were awful! Oh well, the first period was fun.

BTW, just for the sake of hilarity:

There was a guy in front of me last night with his kid, and whenever the Spezza line was out or they touched the puck, he'd say something like, "Ohhhh, don't give the puck to those idiots!/morons!"

He also went bonkers because they didn't throw up a delayed penalty on Staal's goal, not because he didn't see the arm go up (it did, before the shot, thereby nullifying the penalty upon scoring), but because HE DIDN'T SEE GERBER TAKE OFF. The arm was up for a grand total of a second and a half.

Does anyone know if there is a Charlotte radio station that picks up Canes games? There aren't any listed at the official site, and the Charlotte station that used to broadcast them is now doing Bobcats games.

^^from the rulebook on NHL.com:

Quote :
"Each team will be given three shots, unless the outcome is determined earlier in the shootout. After each team has taken three shots, if the score remains tied, the shootout will proceed to a "sudden death" format. No player may shoot twice until everyone who is eligible has shot."

Pretty good game by the Canes, especially with Stillman and T'sky out. Wesley looked good aside from two consecutive mistakes, and Brindy was Brindy. Staal had another of his patented blocker-side lasers, and both Vrbata and Cullen scored on beautiful backhand moves in the shootout (Vrby's was roofed, Cullen's had an extra dipsy and tucked in behind Tellqvist's skate).

gg Ladd on his first NHL goal, also.
