the fans we have now are much more prepared for a Stanley Cup series than the ones we had in 2002... that includes myself... i didn't appreciate it as much then as i do now...

and if you put an asterisk in for every team that loses a key player to injury then you may as well put them in for 90% of the championships of every sport in the last century... that's just stupid...

y'all may not believe me, but i completely called the game winning goal.

1. i told my friend at the bar (i left once the 1st period ended) that the goalies shouldn't leave the net, especially when there are players on his side of the ice. i've said this all along.

2. i told him when we were down 3-1 that will come back in the 3rd period to tie. he was dejected and said i was crazy.

3. at that same time i told him that not only will the canes tie it in the 3rd, but that we'll score the winning goal with less than 1 minute to go. i specified staal as the person to score that winning goal, and i was wrong on that account.

well, whadda ya know, all of my predictions came true except for staal being the one to score the winning goal. i really don't know shit about hockey, and am still learning alot. yet, i continue to make brillant calls in not only hockey, but other sports i don't know shit about. the kentucky derby is another recent example. y'all may remember that i called barbaro's victory. i do this shit all the time. unfortunately, i'm not as successful with the predictions in sports i actually watch avidly.

^^ Conklin leaving the net did not cause the goal. A lack of communication caused the goal. Both the goaltender and the defenseman are equally at fault in situations like this one.

When are people going to just accept that this team is fucking good. We were #1 in the NHL through the regular season, trading off between 1, 2, 3, 4...

We've beat good teams in the playoffs... not the best games sometimes but we still fucking won.

We're a good team AND we're playing without one of our best...

Don't take anything away from this team if we win the Stanley Cup just because you're not happy
