right now i'm starting cotchery over glenn in my league

i have about 40 minutes to decide on rivers or roethlisberger

my thinking is that the chargers could get away with doing the same thing this week and handing it to LT every play and still win big, whereas the steelers will probably need to throw to beat the jags. right now i have ben starting.

thoughts?

that's a tough one since they both use the EXACT same strategy.

i think big ben will be 100%, but i think i would go with rivers just in case because he won't make mistakes and get you negative points and he's healthy for sure...

i'm risk averse though

well i was thinkin about rivers but it's too late lol, lost track of time

what the fuck, they don't trust rivers to throw a TD pass on 3rd and 3? so they let LT throw it? im glad it was incomplete.

I almost got rid of toomer, but I played him instead!

OTOH, Warner and cotchery look like the suck, and W. Dunn needs to score some fucking touchdowns. Looks like even pennington or Alex Smith would be better than Warner versus seattle.

Third for chargers D. Sat Atlanta D, which did well, too. With that said, they need to get some sacks and turnovers.

Oh yeah, Peyton Manning 400 yards, 3 TDs. He got 41 points in my league (Highest team total last week was 108 -- same guy who has p manning)

"Eli will have some big yardage numbers this week at Philly. Tiki has historically PWNED the Eagles, and as we saw v. the Colts, he does most of his damage and little dump passes from Manning and turns them into big gains.

It may not be the popular choice, but I'd take Eli in a game where they are going to do thier damn best not to go to 0-2.

Start Eli.

Also: Remember that this isnt your Rams from 3-4 years ago (or even last year for that matter). If they showed anything in week one, it was thier ability to stick with the run and grind it out. Thats why Jeff Wilkins had so many field goals. Instead of being the old Rams and winging it on third down, they are MUCH more conservative and playing smarter (hence the WIN against a talented AFC Broncos team).

Go with Manning."

Ditto, unfortunately they aren't a D that scores tons of fantasy points (such as the Bengals).

There are no points for total yards allowed, and chargers DB's can't catch worth a damn.

[Edited on September 17, 2006 at 6:37 PM. Reason : they did get 1 INT today though]

My league actually does award points based on yards allowed.

If they keep the Titans under 100 yards, I get 12 points; if they're between 100 and 200, I get 8.

I'm up 13 points.

He has Willie Parker and the Dallas Defense left.

I have Leftwich. 25 yards per point. 0.5 points per completion/-0.5 per incompletion.

I am worried.

^^you're golden. all it depends on is the scoring system for defenses really, and i dont think he'll get enough.

parker may even go for a td, but i still dont see them combining for 14 more points than leftwich scores.

basically my should-be-big point-getters are not cutting it, and for that reason I am currently tied for the second lowest point total this week.

Tiki gets yards not tds, I though B Jacobs got TDs but NY RBs did nothing today. I'm hoping the eagles just got pumped for stopping tiki as he rushed for 110+ against them in 6 of 7 previous games.

Stephen jackson gets yards, not TDs.

andre johnson finally got a td in garbage time.

we'll see if Moss improves any from his 61 yards and a dropped TD ball.

only reason i won last week is Chargers had a freakish game against oakland.

I'm thinking about trading my big names for real point-getters...

should I do this or stick it out and be patient?

wasn't it you that said Eli wasn't an upgrade over Delhomme?

i think i'll take 371 yards and 3 tds over 181 yards, but that's just like, my opinion man.

you would be giving up moss for him

if you are really going to be a dumb fuck and make a comparison of delhomme as a fantasy player minus steve smith vs eli then go ahead

I wish TO would catch some more too. I get a point per reception. I don't even care if he gains yards.

And I need Cooley to get <10 yards for another league.

Should have went Vick over McNair, knew McNair wouldn't put up good point this week, but I wouldn't have guessed Vick would have made the TB defense look lost.

Oh well, up by a bunch right now, not going to make-or-break my week.
