I think we get Brown. I don't see us missing out on him.

Wall is a crapshoot right now. There really is no clue where he'll end up, and im sure he'll take it all the way to the end.

Favors is us, UGA or GT. He is a one and done kid though, so whats the use in leaving home if you're only gonna be at the college for one year?? I think he is GT's to lose, but he has a good relationship with Sidney and that is what got JJ.

Getting Brown would ease the loss of Wall by about 5% seeing as how he has shown a good enough handle to be able to handle the Point when needed....but Wall is just a tremendous talent.

Nonetheless, there is SOOO much time still left in the recruitment of these players, that any talk right now is speculation. These kids won't be set on where they're going for another year, and then another 2 months before they're even on campus.

i don't know, favors might be ready to say something sooner than that. wall will definitely drag it out. brown seems ready to commit to nc state but it's like he is holding off. i'm wondering if maybe his coaches told him not to commit yet so other schools will keep sending scouts to watch him and it will give them a chance to see his teammates when they do. he just seems to high on nc state to go anywhere else.

some quick notes about Favors, he recently said that Sid and Coach Harris have been all over him like its 2 coaches recruiting him so we are going after him hard. He said he will make a choice in either July or August and his top schools are (in no order)GT, Georgia and N.C. State....Said GT will be in it until the end b/c of close it is to home and he was really impressed with how JJ improved a lot from high school to college

JJ did start to pass out of double teams more. He also developed a turnaround jumper. I'll say that Hansbrough became very good shooting that little jumper just a step or two inside the three point line at the top of the key. He would always find his sweet spot just a little right of center. I still don't know why he couldn't hit a three pointer just a step back from that area though. I hope JJ stays. I think if he does we'll see a huge jump from his freshman to sophmore year, and then he'll be a sure first rounder, maybe even a lottery pick, get a guaranteed contract and a ton more money.

When Scott Wood and the other 09 commits (plz 2 get Brown) come in here's what our scholarship veteran roster will look like with the assumption that if JJ comes back he will be gone after his second year. I think Marques Johnson will be moved to the 2 to free up depth at the 1 and also create depth at the 2.

I think if we actually landed Wall, we'd try to get Phil Taylor in the 2010 class to replace him (not that Taylor would start, the starting spot would go to Javi).

I have nothing but apathy towards basketball right now. The disarray of the program has really left me dismayed at our chances of being competitive any time soon. Unless we get a commit or until the regular season games start, I won't get my hopes up. I wonder what the turn out for midnight madness will be like?

Harrow has clear-cut leader

Ryan Harrow has a new favorite college after spending two days attending the North Carolina State elite camp.

The 5-foot-11, 150-pound Harrow admits he grew up a North Carolina fan, but is starting to change his allegiance to the red and white of NC State. The point guard prospect was impressed with NC State coach Sidney Lowe and the experience he gained during the elite camp.

"I thought it would be a great camp and it was, and I learned a lot of stuff," Harrow said. "We were able to use the stuff we learned in the games. I learned about the pick and roll and stuff about that."

Harrow was able to go against some of the NC State players Wednesday night and was matched up against good friend Lorenzo Brown, who also attended the camp. The two are part of the Louis Williams Elite organization, but play in separate age groups most of the time.

"It was a cool thing that I could compete against some college players," Harrow said.

Harrow was able to catch the eye of the NC State coaching staff with his smooth game and solid jump shot.

"The NC State coaches were really nice and were looking out for me, asking me how my family is doing," Harrow said. "They were telling me to make sure that I keep my grades up and keep my focus."

NC State might be the early leader for Harrow's services, but he is also hearing from Kentucky, Auburn, Virginia Tech, Florida, Wake Forest, Georgia, UT-Chattanooga and Davidson. He has an offer from UT-Chattanooga, and he expects an offer from Auburn soon.

The Wolfpack also gave Harrow the impression that he will be getting a formal written offer too in the future.

"I was talking with Coach Lowe, and if it was my choice, I would have gone ahead and committed," Harrow said. "My mom just told me that we should wait out what other schools might offer. If it was up to me, I would have committed already.

"I really like Coach Lowe and think he's a good coach. He's coached and played in the NBA, and he can help me develop into an NBA guard if I can get that far. He told me when I get there, that I'll be the one running the show and can make the team better."

Harrow knows the stronger he gets, the more schools will be offering scholarships.

"I know I have to get bigger body-wise, as that is what most of the coaches are telling me," Harrow said.

Harrow is used to proving people wrong and doesn't let anyone intimidate him on the court.

"I think I'm a real good player because I like to score and get my teammates involved," Harrow said. "If my team really needs to get a stop, I can do that too."

The Douglasville, Ga., native attended the Concord Cannon School for 2 1/2 years before leaving in late January after his grandmother passed away. He elected to return home to the Atlanta area and attend Marietta Walton High, which also features junior guard Glen Rice Jr.

NC State coaches first spotted Harrow during his freshman year last year, while checking to scout Cannon School teammate Jarell Eddie, who is also in the Class of 2010.

Harrow followed up on the NC State interest by attending the Red/White intrasquad game last October, and the UNC at NC State game Feb. 20.

Harrow did learn some new things in his return trip to Raleigh.

"I got to find out more about their facilities and how they can use them whenever they want to," Harrow said. "The practice facility and the weight room [were impressive]." (Lee Fowler just came. )

why would Sidney say that he would be the one running the show? I mean if he was a top-ranked recruit then maaaybe he would run the show, but if you say that shit to every recruit they're gonna be pissed when the show up and have to ride the bench.

Well the article said that Lowe noticed him when they went to check out Jarrell Eddie. Harrow transferred schools and that may be one reason why he hasn't been evaluated yet. He's still just a rising junior. I grew 2 inches from the end of my sophmore year to the time I graduated high school. I doubt Sidney meant that he'd be running the show from day one. I'm pretty sure he probably told him that they think he could one day compete for the starting job if he were to come to State. He could end up being very good in 2 years. I think it's a good sign that he's hearing from schools like Kentucky, Florida, and Wake Forest. Those 3 are pretty good basketball programs last I checked, and Virginia Tech, Auburn, and Georgia are all in major conferences. I think Lowe and Co. are already planning that if they get Wall, they have already have it planned out that he will be a one and done player and they will perhaps have Phil Taylor and/or Ryan Harrow coming in immediately afterwards. John Wall was a 1* unranked PG when we first began recruiting him. He's already taller than Jai Lucas, who everyone on here wanted to come here after missing out on Chris Wright.

Coach Derek Dickerson has been to Raleigh before on business trips before, but having the chance to bring five players from his Louis Williams Elite organization brought a different job this past week.

Combo guard Lorenzo Brown, a rising senior, and rising junior point guard Ryan Harrow headlined Dickerson's contingent to the NC State elite camp, which took place Wednesday and Thursday. Both Brown and Harrow were also able to play against the current NC State players.

Dickerson said the week has been hectic for Lorenzo Brown, who attended the Chris Paul Backcourt Camp in Winston-Salem last weekend, then the NC State elite camp, and then off to Portland on Thursday to play with the Reebok All-Stars in the Rose City Classic. Brown will return to the Atlanta area Sunday, but then depart for the NBA Players Association Camp at the University of Virginia on June 18-21.

"I know NC State really wants a commitment," Dickerson said. "I think he'll be ready to decide in early August. NC State and Memphis are the top two."

Harrow is a new and old name on the North Carolina State scene. Harrow grew up in the Atlanta area, but took a detour to attend the Cannon School in Concord, N.C., for a year and a half. The Wolfpacker was able to watch him against Greensboro Day on Nov. 30, where he was the leading scorer in a lop-sided 67-48 loss. Cannon School coach Ron Johnson knew he had a potential Division I player in Harrow to go along with Class of 2010 standout Jarell Eddie.

However, the 5-foot-11, 150-pounder returned to Atlanta in the middle of the season and now attends Marietta Walton High.

"He's been hearing from Texas, Clemson and NC State," Dickerson said. "NC State told him this week at the camp that they wanted to offer him a scholarship, but nothing has been worked out yet."

Harrow plays with the Louis Williams 16s and earns high marks for his gustiness and ability to shoot, but will need to get bigger over the next two years. Dickerson hopes he grows to 6-1 and 175 pounds.

Louis Williams Elite will also play at the GBOA South tournament in Norcross, Ga., June 28-29, and then will attend a traveling tournament in the suburbs of Milwaukee, Wis., that starts July 5.

In this video you can see how Wood has a quick release. Also the vid shows off some of his defense with him blocking shots, getting steals, etc. and also shows his rebounding ability and hustle. He definitely looks like a hustler. We need players that will hustle, b/c that was definitely an issue at times last year. He gets a couple of dunks in the vid b/c of his hustling. The other thing the video shows off is his free throw shooting form. It looks picture perfect and the same every time he shoots. I can see why he is something like an 86 or 88% free throw shooter. Teams definitely better not lose him in transition when he gets here, b/c he'll make them pay. He'll be a great guy to run off of screens and teams had better face guard him, b/c all he needs is a little room to get his shot off. In the vid he gets the ball, takes a step forward to fake that he's gonna go to his right and the defender moves in anticipation. Wood then quickly pulls his foot back and pops a shot off. He could end up being a fan favorite and be very annoying to opposing team fans like JJ Redick, Stephen Curry, Chris Lofton, and Terrence Oglesby, b/c of how they can seemingly stroke it from anywhere and you wonder how your players could leave the guy open for even a second.

So apparently all indications have us having a real shot at landing Favors. Lowe and Harris contact him so much that he described it as if we have two head coaches trying to land him, and that he likes both guys a lot. He noticed how much Hickson improved over the year. One AAU coach thinks it's very possible that we could land him. While he insists that his recruiting is wide open it seems that 3 schools in particular are more than likely his favorites. The first three schools that he usually mentions when asked about who's recruiting him is GT, UGA, and State. I think if we land Brown, then that gets the ball rolling for landing Favors and/or Wall. Everyone is raving about the Heels 2009 class, but imagine if we land the #1 Center, the #1 PG, and the #5 SG. Factor in Favors and Wall both being in the Top 3 of pretty much everyone's list and I don't see how we wouldn't have the #1 ranked class in the nation for 2009. Throw in the sharpshooting Wood, who is a Top 150 player whose stock is rising a lot, and we'd potentially have the best class ever in school and ACC history.

I've got to say if the stars aligned and we did land both Wall and Favors, I wouldn't care that they were one-and-done players. The press we would get from both of them coming here and being lottery picks would be so great that I could really see us vaulting back into the elite of college basketball just b/c our name recognition would make it easier for us to land the elite level talent that we need to get back to where we belong.

I think we will land Brown, which makes me very excited. All indications make it seem like he will commit after the summer. His coaches and teammates all think he'll come to State, and it helps that his mother likes Lowe and Raleigh. Either way it's hard not to get excited with how the staff has us in great shape with some of the top guys in the 2009 class, and are already getting in good with some talented players in the 2010 class. All that we can ask the staff for is to have us in a position to land these elite level players. We can't put a gun to these guys' heads and make them run with the Pack.

For 2010 Leslie will likely be the headliner of the class. The staff seems to be planning on life after Wall, with us being in good shape with point guards Phil Taylor and Ryan Harrow. Also we would need PGs to make up for Javi's departure. Maybe we can also land 4* SF Tashawn Mabry from Rocky Mount.
