I'm loving the Jason Lytle album.

It's a 'must listen' for any Grandaddy fans... he didn't change the formula very much, which I was happy about, to be honest.

I've listened to it three times today and it's certainly making a run at The Griz for my favorite a.o.t.y.

One of the singles from the new Mars Volta album due out this summer. i think this song was planned to be the European single but it has leaked early. Ignoring the fact that the beginning and end cuts seem abrupt (since Im assuming it as usual with most of their albums this song will be flowing from the previous song and into the next so the beginning and end have weird cuts if you listen to it by itself) its awesome.

I can't wait for the full album. For now here is Cotopaxi:

Removing the vocals from that album still only leaves it halfway listenable.

Wilco have named their new album Wilco (The Album).

Seriously!

Rolling Stone says so! And their publicist has confirmed it!

That is so much better than just self-titling it Wilco, don't you agree?

Wilco (The Album) is out in June on Nonesuch. Yes, the leadoff track is "Wilco the Song". And there's a song with Feist on it.

Here's the tracklist:

Wilco (The Album):

01 Wilco the Song
02 Deeper Down
03 One Wing
04 Bull Black Nova
05 You and I
06 You Never Know
07 Country Disappeared
08 Solitaire
09 I'll Fight
10 Sunny Feeling
11 Everlasting "

Wilco the t-shirt! Wilco the lunchbox! Wilco the coloring book! Wilco the flamethrower!

And my favorite: Wilco the doll -- me.

Dark Helmet: It worked, sir. We have the combination.
President Skroob: Great. Now we can listen to every second of Wilco (The Album). What's the combination?
Colonel Sandurz: 1-2-3-4-5
President Skroob: 1-2-3-4-5?
Colonel Sandurz: Yes?
President Skroob: That's amazing. I've got the same combination on my luggage.

The new Field song is phenomenal. My favorite part is the breakdown about three minutes into the song and this fat bass synth comes from under the arpeggios and plays throughout. Can't wait for the rest of the album.

Man, I havent listened to alexisonfire in a LONG time. Maybe i'll give it a shot. I dug the self titled that came out in 2002(?) and haven't really listened much since. I did get Watch Out! or whatever and enjoyed a few songs but I still think that one came out awhile ago now. And thanks for the reminder on Fall of Troy. Glass Casket has talked about another disc as well.

My anticipated list at the moment: BTBAM, The Mars Volta, Jeremy Enigk, Cave In, Converge, Fall of Troy and honorary mention of the new deftones album.

I'll check out Darkest Hour and Alexisonfire too and I'm still waiting to see if Amusement Parks on Fire puts out an EP this year. Minus the Bear has also talked about something being out by the end of the year.

Crisis came out after Watch Out! and in all honesty, I like Crisis a lot better than the first two albums. That's at least partly because the screaming in the self titled gives me a headache...

oh yea I can totally understand. The self titled is recorded horribly. But I was in HS and my gf (well now fiancee) gave it to me. I liked it then but looking back yea there is a lot of stuff on that album that was done pretty poorly. And I knew they had another one I had just gotten lazy about keeping up with them. I'll probably try and check out Crisis (esp if you think it was better than the other 2) and then pick up their new disc this year as well.

seems like me and d7freestyler have a lot of musical interests in common.
I'm all about some Fall of Troy, I actually have Frank Black's autograph on the headstock of my bass

and i bought Menos El Oso, Highly Refined Pirates (twice!) and ...And They Make Beer Commercials Like This but i dont plan on getting Planet of Ice anytime soon... i saw MTB when they played Tremont a year or two ago, awesome show.

i cant wait for HORSE or BTBAM either, I've seen both groups live (twice!) in the past year
