I went ahead and cancelled my pre-purchase on Steam, of course the local GameStop still had a few copies of the PC version releasing tonight, that's one benefit of getting it on PC, demand is much less.

I am a bit disappointed with the game. Played it for a couple of hours, and while the graphics are improved, it isn't dramatically different than in COD4. The campaign has some cool ass missions, but the multiplayer just seems to be more of the same. The biggest changes are more guns and new maps... not very exciting. The biggest draw for me was the graphics, but they still don't really compare to Crysis (except the snow level).

On top of all this they shafted the PC version pretty hard, so fuck that.

got the PS3 version coming tomorrow.. had an Amazon GC, and figured I might as well hold off since I do have to work tomorrow but not Wednesday to be honest even if it were almost exactly the same as MW1 it wouldn't really bother me.. a few new guns and maps, and fixing some things I wanted (which from sources I've read, they have, like changing hosts instead of killing games) is plenty for me.. I've really just dreaded having another Killzone 2 situation where I looked forward to something that should be awesome, kind of like this football season.. but I don't think that's going to be the case this time

Just stopped my session.

Holy fuck, this game fucking sucks.

First of all, the control is fucking BROKEN beyond all fucking belief. The smoothness of your movement is nowhere near what it was in the first game; I feel like my character is a brain dead solider just barely ambling along.

Speaking of the characters, they are blander than fuck. They have no personality to speak of. The two people you played as in the first game actually had character. They were interesting personalities, and warranted the further exploration of the campaign itself. In Modern Warfare 2, I feel no such connection with my virtual personas. They feel just as detached and lifeless as the controls.

The balancing of the weapons has been tweaked for the fucking worse. Machine guns are now ultra cheap; headshots are incredibly easy to pull off, even easier than they are in Halo, and there seems to be a glitch (I'm guessing it's a glitch, because it sure as hell doesn't make sense) where bullets will penetrate even the thickest fucking piece of cover. Not to mention the AI in this game amounts to little more than "hide and chuck infinite piles of grenades" at you, which really makes the game amount to stupid trial and error firefights than are more annoying than challenging or rewarding.

All in all, this game fucking sucks. Don't buy this game. To be fair, however, I never actually played this. I never picked it up at midnight, and I have no idea what I'm talking about. It could be awesome for all I know. Gotcha bitch.

picked up my limited edition MW2 console last night at best buy. was 7th in line and 1st for the console. by the time the store opened at 12 midnight the line was 100+ long with people still coming in when i was leaving at 12:15. and holy *uck, apparently BB has never heard of dry-runs. there were tons of problems right from the opening of the doors. but regardless, 15 min later i was out the door. i will be setting up everything later today after work. 4:00pm can't come faster!
