Also pretty sure that Maradona might be the worst international manager in the history of the game after failing to include Cambiasso and Zanetti in his 30 man WC roster.

^^^ u jokin...no u aint jokin

those forwards are lethal, but the rest of that team is not intimidating. and i know veron is a legend and all...but seriously? is he really a valuable player anymore? what is the beef between maradona and cambiasso? he has been killing it for inter. surprised to not see gago too...oh well

also, moment of silence for my main man davide santon not getting the italy call up because of that injury...in time, young one, in time

lol...domenech leaves off benzema and nasri...with those 2 france has a KILLER squad

Domenech has been a lame duck for a while.

I don't understand Maradona at all. He went through that whole hissy fit about how awesome he was when they qualified contrary to what the press was saying - and then he manages to go and pick a side filled with players no one's ever even heard of before over established GOOD players.

i just checked out France's squad for the first time...this might be one of the weakest french sides ive ever seen. the only thing that might save them is Lloris in goal if he plays as well for country as he does for club

i actually like the french side...apparently nasri and benzema aren't too popular in the locker room...blah blah blah

let's make a squad of the best player's left out and predict how they would fare in the WC

with the first pick, amac884 selects PATO

obviously gourcuff is THE NEXT ZIZOU, but he and nasri would be running things in the middle...i actually like gignac too to go along with govou and ribery on the wings and anelka up top...how can you not like that team??? it looks like they have pretty decent defenders as well

obviously amac...thats why hes still in france at the age of 24

govou and anelka are terrible for country. leaving benzema out, do they even have a real striker threat up top?

how many times has anelka retired then came back for france anyway?

23! and was ligue 1 player of the year last year and made team of the year again this season. any milan fan will tell you that letting him go was a huge mistake. and i would like to see any 20 year old get time in a midfield with kaka, pirlo, and seedorf

wikipedia is telling me bordeaux have 6 ligue 1 titles...i had to check cause i knew bordeaux had to have won one before...

i didnt see anything significant about Mexes, but i was wondering why he didnt make it. that france squad has no center back that seems to be established or great

wait, i missed Gallas earlier...but man i wouldnt want to have to rely on him...

dang im surprised pato got left off, i thought he'd be their top striker by now.

also, i agree with amac about gourcuff. when i lived in france last year i got to see a lot of gourcuff, and that guy is awesome. he's no zidane but i'd rate him up there with most of the better attacking mids in the world.

One month left! I havent looked into how TV broadcasts are gonna work over here seeing as most of the group match play is gonna be while a lot of us are at work. Already trying to decide which days I may try to take off to watch some live. Are they gonna have this on demand on TWC or anything so I can come home each day and watch the matches before I hear or see the scores?

Looks like Ill have to go pickup a HD DVR box for this one month so I can DVR and watch when I get home each night.

I just found out I'm heading to training for my new job later this month. It looks as if I'll be working through this World Cup. Luckily, the England game is on a Saturday.

In slightly related news, I'll be based out of Puerto Rico, so I got a new team to root for.

Thanks. I have a friend from Bayamón, and his Spanish is probably the most understandable to me, even though my Spanish has been cultured by Mexicans. Definitely rusty though. Very rusty.

Danny Jordaan is mad cause he is good friends with Ronaldinho. Let me show you.
