Obviously I meant to post the Armon gilliam death here.
One of our first exciting players. He and johnny Newman made me think we might one day have black basketball players on the hornets instead of tripucka, Chapman, rambis, hoppen, and gminski 7/6/2011 7:30:52 PM |

There's really nothing more relaxing than the sweet sounds of a radio bobcats broadcast
"Dominic McGuire swings it around the horn to Garrett Temple. Eduardo Najera sets a screen up top, Temple lays it off to Desagana Diop who goes up and draws the foul. Diop to the line, first free throw is up and is no good. 2nd free throw is off the mark as well. Bobcats down 52-33 with 2 minutes remaining in the first half" 7/13/2011 6:55:22 PM |

not a huge shocker here, but the Bobcats have no national TV appearances on ABC, ESPN, or TNT next season. granted there may not be many games, if any at all.
seems kind of fucked up though to not even show ONE game on national TV. i know they aren't a huge draw and no one gives a shit about them, but i would think that out of 82 games, they could find one decent matchup. like the Lakers...those are always good games (though it will be different from now on). 7/19/2011 9:31:17 PM |

who the hell is Garrett Temple
http://blogs.charlotte.com/inside_the_nba/2011/07/temple-headed-to-italy.html
Quote : | "Temple headed to Italy
Garrett Temple will become the first Charlotte Bobcat to commit to playing overseas next season, in the wake of the lockout.
Temple's agent, John Hamilton, told the Observer today that Temple is signing with Casale, a team in Northern Italy. It's a one-year deal with no out, should the lockout expire. Temple is taking this option in part due to the lockout, but primarily for the chance at steady playing time.
"We were not actually pursuing overseas, because we felt he had such a good situation in Charlotte,'' Hamilton said. "But this will let him really focus on what he needs to do to be a rotation play, and that's play steady point guard.
"Obviously the lockout was another element'' in the decision. "We would not be doing it otherwise. But this was the right opportunity, given the lockout.''
Temple was signed by the Bobcats midway through last season as a third point guard behind D.J. Augustin and Shaun Livingston. At 6-6, his best attribute was as a long defender. He was still adapting to being a playmaker, after playing mostly shooting guard.
Despite being a free agent, Temple had been a constant at off-season workouts at the Bobcats' training facility before the lockout ended all contact between the players and team personnel.
Under rules of the lockout, the Bobcats management and coaches can't discuss current players." |

i remember reading about how much the coaches liked Temple, but he never made an impact. which is to be expected, because he's some dude they found off the streets.
Rick Bonnell wrote a few blog entries about him last season. that's where the Bobcats are at now, which is fucking sad.
looking forward to "Dhalsim" Biyombo blocking some shots 7/26/2011 10:50:21 PM |

Bobcats are off to a good start this year. We knocked off the Magic on the road, lost to the Bucks at home, and just got a big win over the Grizzlies. Could this roster be playoff bound?
BOBCATS 104, GRIZZLIES 103: BOBCATS 104, GRIZZLIES 103: In a controversial ending, Corey Maggette hit one of two free throws with less than a second remaining to give Charlotte the thrilling victory. Rudy Gay scored six of his 22 first-half to key an 11-2 Memphis run leading into the break, giving the Grizzlies an eight-point advantage. Charlotte climbed closer behind Tyrus Thomas' eight third-quarter points and went ahead in the fourth quarter as Augustin stayed hot. He scored eight points in a two-minute surge that left the Bobcats up seven with 2:43 to play. However, Memphis' Zach Randolph went to work, scoring six points during an 8-1 rally and sinking a short turnaround with two seconds to play, tying the score at 103. After a timeout, Maggette popped free off a screen, beating Randolph who had jumped out on a switch, and put up a runner as the clock expired. However O.J. Mayo, who had come over to contest the shot, was called for making contact with Maggette's shooting elbow, a call that replays suggested was incorrect.

my guess is nothing special im more excited about biyombo.
Kemba looks like a 9.5 ppg, 40% FG type rookie to me. But he's got potential if he can figure out how to get his shots. 11/27/2011 6:57:56 PM |

Biyombo looks like another classic foreign project that will never amount to shit. I don't know how you can be excited about that. But then again, you are the lord czar of rebounding. 11/27/2011 6:59:40 PM |

yeah chances are better than not he doesn't amount to much but he has the upside to become one of the best rebounder/defenders in the league.
Kemba walker's upside is likely limited to ben gordon type players that are a dime a dozen and dont help you win games. 11/27/2011 7:54:41 PM |

reggie evans was amazing last year before he got hurt so i'd be happy with that, but i think biyombo has a much higher upside than that. His wingspan is ridiculous.
I'm thinking slightly better than Ibaka on the defensive end and a slightly better Diop on offense. 11/28/2011 11:09:53 AM |
