sounds good to me. It is hard to get any semblance of a run game going with only 5 min quarters, especially if you are down, and know the other team can just chew up a whole quarter on a drive.

Since Commissioner hey now's XBox shut the bed, I'll be temporarily assuming commissionership of the league. However this is just a formality, as hey now is still the commish. This will be akin to me banging his wife while he radios me instructions into a tiny earpiece from a van parallel parked outside his house.

I will be advancing the league sometime in the next half hour or so, so if anyone still wants to do recruiting, now is the time.

I also understand people want 7-minute quarters. I will make this change unless multiple people object.

The fans in Blacksburg won't be happy after a poor showing and an OOC loss to the unranked Clemson Tigers. RS Junior Andre Ellington ran over, around and through the Hokie defense on his way to a 200yd+ rushing performance and an easy 38-24 victory. The game was close going into the 3rd quarter as the Tigers held a narrow 17-14 lead but Ellington silenced the crowd with a 72yd touchdown run on Clemson's first possession of the 3rd quarter. Coach Swinney changed up the offense scheme which was exactly what the Tigers needed putting up nearly 400 yds of Total Offense after falling short of 200 in the season opener. Even with the win, Swinney was notably upset with his 2nd team defense for giving up a touchdown in the closing minutes. With this win, Clemson moves to an improbable 2-0 and 1-0 in conference heading into Week 3.

Kentucky defense scores three touchdowns to lead the wildcats past Maryland in home opener.

Maryland started off the game with a stop and 31 yard touchdown to quiet the crowd. Kentucky took the lead for good when Obrien, under distress, threw to the flats and was picked off by All ACC safety Guy and returned 28 yards for the score. The terapins disaster continued from there as they muffed two punts, one of which was recovered by the wildcats and returned the other way for a touchdown.

Maryland outgained Kentucky 363 to 337 in total offense but the wildcats finished the game without a turnover.
rushed 12 times for 69 yards and edmund allen, the starter, had the same carries and 67 yards

Next week the real UM comes into town for what is being billed as "Kentucky's super bowl".

in my personal dynasty, took UT to the Cotton bowl at 8-4 where I beat Oklahoma. Got the #1 recruiting class after snatching away the #1 and #12 overall players from Bama. Then played NC State to start 2012 and beat them on a last second field goal. Glennon an the O-line is REALLY good, I dont think I touched him all day except for a stupid ass option play. But State's run defense sucked. Rajion Neal got me 168 yards and 3 TDs rushing.

In my offline dynasty I've been rolling along. Finally hit a snag against BC. For some reason playing in the snow killed my passing game. My WR's were having balls bounce off their facemasks and refused to reach for passes that appeared within reach. Managed to hit Graham on a deep ball and score with 0:38 left to go ahead and win the game by 4. Anyone had similar issues with snow games?

I think the receivers just randomly have games where they say "I'm not going to catch anything you throw at me".

you pretty much have to turn into the receivers and manually go for catches a lot of the time, same with defensive backs

it can get you burnt, but it can pay off big dividends too, ie my 66 yard TD pass to Jeffery last night

Whats really hard is when your open but the ball is underthrown, so you have to stand on the circle for a second before the ball gets there. My guys never want to stay still, so the ball will land right next to them with no defender within 5 yards.

short passes like that can often get picked off, but they can work well if you use your Z or X to run a slant inside if the outside corner is playing man...and even if a linebacker is covering your intended receiver, your receiver can usually beat him to the outside

Also on screen passes, or just throws into the flat, your RB is wide open, your QB throws the ball right to him, and he turns in Forrest Gump and lets the ball bounce right off his helmet without even trying to catch it. Has happened for YEARS in this series.
