I care less about what Hawks like mcCain and Graham say and more about what countless experts and military officials say.

This kind of action doesn't keep us safer and it does create more would-be terrorists.

If you think a temporary travel ban is going to create terrorists then you must think the travel ban is a good idea. I mean if people are just one piece of policy away from becoming terrorists its good we keep them out, right?

You're the one suggesting something as trivial as a temporary travel ban can radicalize a normal Syrian.

They must really be dangerous after all then, huh?

I mean propaganda radicalized Dylan Roof. Not sure why real persecution (via Obama's constant bombing and now Trump's stupidity) couldn't do the same in the ME.

Again, though, this isn't my opinions or only on the left. It's a pretty normal opinion among most experts.

Is that 120 days on top of the 12-18 month screening process already in place for refugees? Or replacing it?

Why do you hacks even pretend like you can handle dissenting views. You can't step one foot outside of your echo chamber without getting triggered

It's hard to know what is outside of the chamber when you won't answer simple yes or no questions.

Time to add Canada to the list. Not safe until we find out what the hell is going on with their white make millenials who have far-right leanings.

Sean Spicer is a piece of shit by the way. Using this as a way to justify the EO is just cold hearted shit.

You're in your leftist echo-chamber (TWW) getting triggered over dissent.

The difference between all 3 below is where they turn off their brain in their thought process.

SJWs are essentially babies crying for attention that all belong to the same Marxist cult. They have a deep need to feel "oppressed" so they can justify their temper tantrums to the world and make up for their failures in life. Like members of a cult, SJWs have a constant craving for validation from fellow cult members. They appeal to each other for validation by constantly referencing cases of oppression and telling the world how bad it is and how upset they are about it, because they care! (translation = look at me!). The problem for SJWs is, that in 2017 actual oppression is hard to find, so we have tons of cases of false narratives, exaggerations, vague, undefined references to "oppression"... ***This is where the SJW turns off their brain***

TWW Examples: Moron

Hacks (on either side) are the result of echo-chamber syndrome. They have only heard one view of issues for so long that they view their side as good and the other side as evil. ***Hacks turn off their brain anytime facts conflict with this view***. They can't discuss policies objectively with pros and cons, they can only attack the other side and praise theirs.

TWW Examples: Shrike

Leftists defend all of the above by default. ***They turn off their brain when you expose how absurd the above are, because their brain can't process turning against their own no matter how crazy they get.*** Leftists can become hacks or SJWs, but typically have an anchor keeping them rooted in reality and preventing echo-chamber syndrome.

TWW Examples: Most of you

Well you have to remember the only arguments I really make on TWW are along the lines of:

"This SJW/Hack post is bullshit and here is why".

I'm not making threads advocating/pushing biased right wing shit, I'm just calling out bullshit in biased leftwing shit, which is the majority of TWW.

So Pro Regime forces have somewhat blocked the Turkish backed Free Syrian Army by driving to the Kurdish lines.

With the Turkish forces in a pocket without an avenue to attack ISIS, do they sit back and see how it unfolds?

The Kurds are amazingly close to Al Raqqah. ~10km. I dont know if they have what it takes to take the city though. It feels like the drive to Berlin. It might be somewhat significant for whomever holds it. Does air support provide the Kurds with enough advantage to even attempt to take Raqqah?

Western Mosul is under way. Depending on how motivated the fighters are, could take well over a month.

I imagine it will all start to unwind rather quickly. ISIS tried pushing extremely hard at Al Bab and Palmrya but have lost Bab and Palmrya is will be under threat again soon. They will convert to insurgency soon.

I'm hoping for the Kurds advance as much as possible. With Turkey and Russia having enough leverage to negotiate Assad being replaced.

But whomever gets control will be left with a fractured corpse of a country.

Trump is asking for a more aggressive plan to make good on his campaign promise. But in all seriousness, this fight will be over soon. Its just a matter of what you want. I think having smaller numbers of Americans on the ground is the best thing for the Iraqis to develop themselves and become a professional capable force. More will die, but much more will learn. Let them do it on their own as much as possible.

More Americans is just more propaganda for our enemies. Though, post-ISIS, some analysis of how stable the current regime is needs to be taken into account. It may be that some Iranian forces try to bring back. Which is terrible.

Overall its a good idea to take a fresh perspective on the conflict now that ISIS is turning into more dispersed smaller pockets. Is the current level of coordination with countries enough or do you need ramp up in certain areas?(Egypt)

Surprise special forces air drop supported with a boat landing by the SDF. Hoped across Lake Assad in what looks to be an effort to proactively get in front of the government forced such that the SDF wants to be in control of all sides of Ar Raqqah, ISIS capitol. Ar Raqqah now looking at 3 fronts leading up to being surrounded.

Surprisingly aggressive use of Special forced. Hopefully they can get enough equipment and people across.

I find it interesting that Iraq will largely be free of a significant insurgency if the central government maintains current leadership style.

That the insurgency has flipped from AQI to ISIS in Syria. So, at some point, Iraq starts to rebuild and Syria keeps churning. Essentially, a US allied country shakes off the shackles and Russian/Iran aligned Syria deals with the insurgency it helped foster to punish US in Iraq.

I think Iraq, under this leadership, can maintain a competent armed forces network that owns the problems of the state. The experience of this can not be underappreciated. They have fought for it, they've seen their cities, people, and families ruined. They have a vested interest in more than their tribe. No tribe can stand alone against a focused terrorist group. So its in their interest to have a functioning state/institutions.

ISIS is proof that if you give terrorists free reign over a territory how horrifying it can be. The shiny ideal that some might see in jihad-ism has been tarnished. The more exposed it is the less normalized it becomes. You only have the truly misled, the most extreme.

Going forward, all the countries aligned against ISIS need to continue to work against them in Egypt, Afghanistan, Lybia, etc. They are all affected by this. Lets hope they dont get distracted.

Mosul is about to be over with.

US blew away a Syrian Regime convoy as it came directly at an area controlled by US special forces and FSA. Russia even warned them not to move into the area.

The US is using marines and SOF as body shields by placing them in the areas where we have local forces fighting with us. Souther FSA forces and YPG.

Our forces will be the stop gap to prevent the regime going where we don't want them to. If they step up to move against those forces we have overwhelming air support with Russia not willing to down an American plane.

Its one way we can shape the lay of the land as ISIS in Syria shrinks.
