Yeah, going out with the low pocket pair is my trademark. Turner really should have saved the all in for suited connectors.

John Hennigan raised to 75k and Jon "PearlJammer" Turner pushed all in over the top for 526,000 more.

Hennigan called and the players showed their hands.

Hennigan: TT
Turner: 44

Board: 6528K

Turner picked up a gutshot straight draw on the flop to gain some outs, but got no help on the turn or river and has been eliminated in 12th place for $72,003

Maybe he was getting tired?

Maybe I have some bad play, but I wouldn't really want to push with 44, but I guess down to 12 people you have to make some moves

^ beat me to what I was saying basically

sounds like a semi-bluff resteal from blinds to a lp raiser gone awry with unfortunate timing.

yeah i doubt that highly

heres the way i see it probably going down, having no information except action on the ai hand and stack sizes.

JT had nearly 1mill to start the day, but down to what, ~600k

probably was card dead for the day

JH was more than likely very active picking up pots uncontested with a pfr.

turner was prly being forced to fold constantly with bad cards, starts to look weak

blinds prly 15k/30k, 4k ante, giving an m of like 7.

world opened in late for a 2.5x raise, turner in the sb/bb p00shed,

ran into a real hand

standard play, just unfortunate timing.

then, against the possible range jh is opening with, 44 is prly a fav.

possible openers, esp. if jh has a stack, against a player who is dwindling, AT+o, AT+s, 22-AA, KQo, KJ-KQs.

dont have my range calc here, but id be willing to bet a 44 holds up.

Yeah, I see nothing wrong with the play. You're a small favorite vs overcards and the other person probably won't call with 55-88 so unless they happen to have 99-AA you're looking ok. Turner didn't want to see a flop there, he just wanted the 75K most likely.

stealing blinds grows stacks

selective restealing grows faster

you're right, he didnt want to see a flop there, but could stand to see one against overs.

a quasi semibluff resteal

Exactly. The last thing he wants to do is call over 10% of his stack and see a 6 high flop and be stuck deciding if he should go all in or not.

well

the stop-n-go IS another option with middling to low pairs.

call raise, push just about any flop hoping it totally missed the raiser.

would have the same result here however.

theyve always had the best tournament structure

and the stronger ante's to party's wack assed ante system allowed for an ev shift to players who understood how to compensate for the ante difference.

although, they always have had a much better field talent wise, so it kinda gets a bit trivialized.

software ok too

and instant cashouts/deps. were nice
