I am tired of having boring long hair. I've had basically the same cut for the better part of ... probably 10 years, but there's no way I can pull off bangs, and I don't want to cut layers up to my chin or anything, and there isn't a whole lot else to be done with long hair that I can think of. I don't really want to lose length though, because it's longer than it's been in a good while, and I like it. So I guess I'll just whine about it. 5/14/2010 10:49:28 AM |

this was the last picture... stupid hotlinking I guess
Anyway, I want bangs that are kind of ... "free" looking, but not just typical side swept. I guess I'm trying to say I want bangs that will still look if they aren't perfect because NC humidity during the summer certainly isn't Sam-hair friendly... BUT I WANT BANGS, DAMMIT. and I've been using this stuff that Matrix makes for hair straightening and it does a really great job at actually keeping my hair straight (in most places). 5/14/2010 10:50:20 AM |

^ That's my fav so far. When sideswept bangs grow out, they just look like layers ... kind of an evolution into bedroom hair. 5/14/2010 11:01:07 AM |

I want them. I have curly hair. I have product and a straightener. Should I go for it?" |
i did the front bangs a couple of years ago. i will say this.....it took a while for my hair to be trained to move to the front of my face rather than the side (since your part changes). my hair grows really fast so i had to get them trimmed frequently. also, i got mine done in the winter but by spring, i had to start letting them grow out because my hair is also very curly and thick and the bangs would just not work in the humidity. training my bangs to go back to the side to grow them out was a bit of a bitch. i had one section of bang that kept falling right in front of my eye no matter what i did. bobby pinning my bangs back (doing the mini snooki poof) was my best friend during the grow out period.

I think I've decided on a mix between Ashley Olsen's bangs and this hair cut (but longer):
^ thanks for the advice!! I might go for straight front bangs once winter gets here but I figured those are a hell-no-go right now 5/14/2010 11:06:26 AM |

its really hard to do the straight front bangs if you have to deal with any sort of frizz with humidity. i'm jealous of girls who can straighten their hair in the summer on the most humid days and their hair stays straight. 5/14/2010 11:10:26 AM |

I'm starting to like that second cut more and more (even for length) - but I know I would hate myself come one week later when I have no ponytail, etc (and for the simple fact that I'm trying to grow out my hair) 5/14/2010 11:13:12 AM |

^^^^ Cute! And I love the mini Snookie poof. The look and the phrase.
I'm considering going back to my natural hair color. Two reasons: lower maintenance and to look a little less like the typical Florida bimbo. But I really like both colors. Which looks better?

I like both colors Lucy, but I agree the brown looks a little less Florida bimbo (although you don't look ho-ish )
I think you would look great with chocolate brown as well 5/14/2010 11:20:13 AM |

^^ That plaid dress rocks! Have you gotten much wear out of it?
^ I didn't think about chocolate brown. That would be fun! I think I need to transition to a lighter brown before going much darker. It's tough for me to make major color changes. I did dark, dark, dark brown before (from blonde) and it was shocking ... to me and to my colleagues.
I dig Jen Aniston's color, which is pretty close to my natural:
oh, and
yah, if you go for bimbo blonde, then you have to keep the clothing slightly more conservative. Otherwise people think you're a hooker.

^ You look good with darker hair though! But light is nice for summer. It's a futile cause to try to keep your hair dark this time of year.
Also, ladies, I'm attending a trailer trash pub crawl next month and I need costume ideas. So far I'm thinking:
uggs blue eyeshadow fake baby bump cigarettes tucked into the boobs fake black eye teased hair (maybe get a bumpit) cutoff shorts or leopard leggings (prob shorts bc it'll be hot)
Other suggestions? What type of purse would be trailer trashy?

super generic tribal design on the lower back (or a butterfly... or a Chinese symbol).. or a barbed wire tattoo on the arm trucker hat thong strap hanging out of said cutoff shorts wife beater or a skanky shirt from Wet Seal, Charlotte Russe, Forever 21, etc huge hoop earrings (the bigger the hoop, the bigger the ho)5/14/2010 12:26:06 PM |

lolz. my sorority did a trailer trash bash with one of the fraternities when we were in school and one of my sorority sisters bought one of those fake preggo tummies and wore it out to the bar. the bartenders refused to serve her drinks because she actually looked pregnant....until she lifted up her shirt (just to her belly) to show them that it was just a piece of plastic 5/14/2010 1:24:38 PM |

Sam, I can't wait to see that haircut on you! It's going to look FANTASTIC! -- message_topic.aspx?topic=575621 I did a HUGE order with http://www.mountainroseherbs.com last week, for misc supplies. The oils I got: 16oz Castor oil organic 1/2oz Peppermint essential oil organic 8oz Sweet Almond oil 8oz Kukui Nut oil 1/2oz Eucalyptus (Lemon) essential oil organic 1oz Lavender (40-42) essential oil 1oz Orange (Sweet) essential oil 1/2oz Tangerine essential oil 4oz Lavender hydrosol organic 8oz Lavender hydrosol organic 4oz Peppermint hydrosol organic 4oz Sandalwood hydrosol 16oz Hemp Seed oil organic 16oz Grapeseed oil
Ladies, if ANYONE wants to handle/use/sample any of these carrier oils (hemp, grapeseed, kukui, almond, castor), lemme know. The almond, hemp, and grapeseed can be used as lubes - just not with latex protection. The Kukui is HOLYSHITOMGFANTASTIC. It absorbs so quickly, is very light, and leaves your skin sooooooo silky.
I can't wait to get to mixing these 5/14/2010 11:21:17 PM |

I'm looking for a good place to buy thin cloth bags in bulk for a craft project. I'm thinking the thin fabric that is typically found on a reusable shopping bag would be best, as I'd like to paint on them.
Any ideas on this? Is there a craft thread anyone could point me to? 5/15/2010 11:22:55 PM |

this is gross so beware
the bottom of my feet - well i guess just my heels are like super dry with lots of dead skin. i have a pumice (sp?) stone that i use in the shower and i put regular body lotion on my feet after i shower but it doesn't seem to make a huge difference.
does anyone have any foot creams that they use or have suggestions? it has gotten worse since i've started running . the thing is my heels don't really crack at all even though they are so rough and dry. its mostly that i just can't seem to get the rough/dead skin off.
gross, i know. 5/16/2010 1:22:57 AM |

If you wear socks in general then your feet won't callous as much. The dead skin will repair over time. (This isn't a realistic option, I know. But I'm going to suggest it anyway.) 5/16/2010 1:44:23 AM |
