Pocket carry on a G27 is easy if you're not wearing nut-huggers. Just use the same quality of belt that you'd use for holster carry and you won't have an issue. 5/17/2012 9:52:14 AM |

Galco IWB for Glock 27. Purchased it as a smaller alternative to my Crossbreed Supertuck, tried it on once, didn't like it, lost the receipt.
$20 if you want it.

IMO you can't get a decent holster for $20. Alexap on csf does some great crossbreed knockoffs for $50. I've had 2 and am getting ready to get a 3rd. Highly recommend them for a decent to good IWB. 5/18/2012 12:30:54 AM |

Depends. I got a cheap one for my Kahr PM9, just wanted a leather IWB option and found one for around $20-$30 (can't remember) and it works great. Wouldn't say the same thing if I was trying to use the same holster (different size obviously) for my Glock 19. In my little experience, I have found that the bigger the gun, the more important a nice holster is.5/18/2012 8:36:10 AM |

Just bought the primary arms 3x magnifier and flip mount to go with my new aimpoint. Heading to my parents ranch next weekend so expect some range reports for the AR15 and AR10 after. Hopefully we will see some hogs or coyotes to take down. If not there will be plenty of varmints to take care of. 5/18/2012 9:16:55 PM |

2 Things.
1) This freakin' Galco holster is the shit. By "the shit," I mean I recommend it to anyone. I"ve been wearing this thing for maybe 20 minutes and already I can tell you it's almost invisible to me, and krs3g will verify that I'm a skinny dude wearing jeans and a t-shirt. VERY comfortable and it excels at its jobs. A++
2) krs3g is the man. Nicest guy. Sorry if I seemed to be in a rush, I've got tight schedule today! It was a pleasure meeting you. Thanks again! A+++ User.

looking for ammo clips for an M1 Garand. My uncle gave it to me to check out and see if its in good firing shape. I've replaced a few parts and ready to take it to the range, but I have no ammo & ammo clips for it. Anyone know of a good resource for this? 5/24/2012 7:52:38 AM |

oh sweet jesus thank God this thread took a turn for the cool.
i have 2 garands, hundreds of clips, and thousands of rounds of M2 ball.
a couple m1 carbines and many magazines for them (30 rounders suck the balls for some reason).
the clips are just simple steel stampings that hold 8 rounds. not like a magazine with a follower and spring at all. in the garand the follower is part of the gun, the clip does nothing but hold the rounds.
this helps understand the function, the ejector spring flings the clip out at the end.
http://www.garandflash.com/feeding.html
the noise this makes is historically famous (or infamous). GIs would bang empty clips on their helmets to make the enemy rush them (thinking they were out of ammo and needed to reload).
i dont think any guns really use clips anymore and the garand was by far the most prolific user of them ever. steyr m95 straight pull carbines and hungarian variants are the only ones that come to mind really... interesting guns but 8x56r ammo is hard to come by.
garands are wonderful guns, and so heavy too. i cant imagine the caliber of soldier it required back in the day to lug such things all over europe and firing full-power ammo. we wont ever see such folks again.
not to get off topic, but contrary to popular belief all the old timers ive talked to from ww2 and korea loved the m1 carbine (and 30 carbine round). tales of it not penetrating frozen chinese clothing are completely false. that round out of a carbine barrel packs substantially more energy than a 357 magnum. ive had revolvers that shot the round before and its a real hoot. even out of a 7.5 inch barrel we're talking 1400-1600fps, and i believe 120gr bullet.
one of the all time underrated guns imho. sorry to go off on a tangent, love these old guns. no offense to the tactical or concealed carry folks, its just not often i feel educated enough to participate in this thread 5/24/2012 11:03:21 AM |

hell yeah y0willy0. If you're in Raleigh area, you willing to let go of some of them clips and some of that ammo? Hell for that matter, wanna go shoot?
The M1 Garand that I have is one that reportedly was used in the Korean war. I took it apart recently and the operating rod spring literally crumbled in my hand so I got a new one. 5/24/2012 11:58:04 AM |

Obligatory Galco. I love mine... <3 <3 <3 But I only carry a G27.
I found:
http://www.usgalco.com/HolsterPG3.asp?ProductID=4079&GunID=55
http://www.usgalco.com/HolsterPG3.asp?ProductID=4032&GunID=55

There may be more, but after getting my Galco holster, I'm kinda biased If you can IWB carry a G17 confortably and it is ergonomic for you, then more power to you.

You could pull that off with a super tuck. I've carried my 21 (17 size equivalent) 23 and 27 with it. There will be a small amount of printing from the handle but the holster distributes the weight so well you'll forget it's there. You can nab one eBay and save a few bucks and the 3 week wait.
You might also have a look at White Hat Holsters max tuck as well. It's basically a super tuck knockoff that has the added benefit of swappable kydex, free combat cut, and a thicker leather. 5/24/2012 10:36:43 PM |
