Quote :
"
Quinnipiac found 45 percent of voters say the country would have been better off if Mr. Romney, the 2012 GOP nominee, had been elected, while just 38 percent say Mr. Obama remains a better choice. Even Democrats aren’t so sure — just 74 percent of them told the pollsters Mr. Obama was clearly the better pick in the last election.

Voters also rate him the worst president since World War II, topping even his predecessor, President George W. Bush, who had left office with terrible ratings.

Why do conservatives thing executive actions are illegal...? This is one of the powers granted to the Executive in the constitution. Not to mention Obama hasn't given much specifics other than a transfer of already appropriated money, which is also one of the constitutional duties of the executive branch.

This reminds me of the time one of my (normally intelligent) friends was convinced that the presidential polls were skewed, because this is what the right wing media was pushing at the time. It's amazing their ability to distort reality for their watchers.

That's a pretty devastating poll. I don't see how Obama lost on economy compared to Bush though, the economy is literally better in every imaginable way compared to the trends under Bush O.o

It does seem to mirror the Common Core debate. CC was a set of standards that grew out of state governments outside of federal mandate, and was very bi-partisan, but it has somehow been pinned on Obama, and the very states that helped develop it are turning their backs on it.

Quote :
"Both Tillman and Rep. Bryan Holloway, R-Stokes, say the new commission may uses pieces of Common Core in setting new standards for the state.

"They can take parts of it, but they cannot take it in its entirety," Holloway said.

In what way is it devastating? 26% of Americans actually think Obama is or may be the antichrist:

http://www.theguardian.com/world/2013/apr/02/americans-obama-anti-christ-conspiracy-theories

The "Worst President Since WWII" poll may be a devastating reflection of the ignorance of Americans, but it's not a devastating reflection on Barack Obama. I guarantee if they run this poll again in 2018, the current president (whoever it is) will also be "Worst Since WWII". And then the next president after that, and the next after that....

Did you say the same thing when they said that Bush was the worst president since WWII?

I don't think I could sum up the left's notion that they are smarter and know better than you, than this quote.

Wow, I wasn't expecting that reaction. I really think I was making an objective claim with what I said. I was referring to what I'll call a "contemporary bias" in polls like these. For example, if you polled Americans today who is the worst recording artist of the past 70 years, I'd be willing to make a bet that the winner would be Justin Bieber since he's much maligned and, more relevantly, contemporary. Do the same poll in the 1970's and you'd probably get somebody like Donnie & Marie Osmond. You know, that's precisely why I said:

Which you conveniently ignored. I think my quote above will be validated because of our current hyper-partisanship and contemporary bias.

To answer your question, I'll admit to having the opinion the GWB is our worst president since WWII. On the other hand, I would recognize a poll claiming Bush to be the worst as a bullshit poll, just as I'm recognizing this poll as bullshit.

What's Obama planning to do with 3.7 billion? That could pay 13,000 people the average household income for five years. That seems like a lot of money for the problem he claims to be addressing.

not his fault completely by any means, but he certainly doesnt help with discussions like this:

which might be the national mood acting on him.

Alternatively, the reason the more contemporary people get picked is because they really are worse. After all, Bieber wasn't around in the 70's for people to vote for. Before W. Bush, if this poll was done, I would have largely expected to see Nixon on the top of the list. Then W. Bush came along and he took the top spot. Now there's probably some validity to the "contemporary bias" in that as time passes, we tend to gloss over the failings of the past, but that doesn't mean that the current target isn't actually the worst, it just means care needs to be taken in examining the results.

Like I already said, it's not just contemporary bias. I'm also strongly basing this on our current hyper-partisanship. Absent the partisanship, sure, I don't think the contemporary bias would be as pronounced. I don't expect this partisanship is going to lessen for several more years at least, however.

It makes me wonder if we will ever see another Andrew Jackson (monstrously racist inclinations aside), James K. Polk, or Theodore Roosevelt again given the political amalgamation of the corporatocacy and 24-hour news cycle.

I want to post this to a conservative reddit board and make fun of people who are unaware of the Daily Currant (but not enough to make a username on reddit)

Regarding my previous post:
Here is when a US Congresswoman and non-satire news agency said Obama's trip to India would cost $200MM a day:
