I have some nerve damage in my neck that gives diminished or false sensations around my thighs...so, I will miss the nexus, sometimes... or think I feel it.
But yeah the Droid was noisy when on vibrate, lol. 12/30/2011 8:46:03 PM |

So with the ICS stock browser (at least on my Nexus) the URL bar keeps reappearing when I scroll down...even lightly. It's all kinds of annoying. I know I can totally hide the URL bar, but I like having it there to quickly access additional windows and refresh. Anyone know of a fix for that behavior?

for those with Verizon...whats the easiest way to keep track of your minutes? DO they do text alerts /emails when you get near your max, or would that get in the way of them making gobs of money? i know they have those alerts for data, but i couldn't find anything about minutes. 1/3/2012 2:58:46 PM |

I own 3 Android tablets actually Nook Color, Dell Streak 7 and a Rena-II. And a Macbook Air.
But yes, my personal phone is a HTC Arrive, and I love it. Wouldn't trade it for an Android phone for anthing. The fiancee has a Evo4G and it would drive me insane. Pretty screen though.1/4/2012 11:38:43 AM |

I know you're into Windows phones, but you really need to look at the Galaxy Nexus to make a fair comparison to Android. Android 4.0 is so much better and the GNex has some pretty impressive hardware. Completely different then the Evo4G, just saying.
There's always this to make you feel at home or (in disguise): http://market.android.com/details?id=info.tikuwarez.launcher3&hl=en

^ yep, i went from the Evo 4G to the 3D and now to the Nexus and this thing blows them away. I have a feeling it's mostly the ICS I'm loving, but the hardware is pretty snappy too 1/4/2012 2:54:01 PM |

$299.99 + $21 tax
Ended up being $276 total after tax though: After -$50 livingsocial discount + $25 paid for discount - $20 giftcard
No NE2 discount since it's the secondary line. Wife would get -$30 for NE2 bringing it to $269 + tax for an upgrade since she has the primary line.
I get an 8% VZW corporate discount, but not applicable on GNex

yeah, mine ended up being something like that
you can probably get cheaper if you're getting a new contract and go through a 3rd party instead of Verizon

^^^All things considered, comparing Apples-to-Apples, it's only $100 difference at VZW, and that's because the Bionic is almost 4 months old and the Samsung is brand new. Wait til mid-May and the Nexus will be $199 or less as well....
Nexus:
.35" larger screen 1.7x the resolution (Nexus has 720p resolution screen) Super AMOLED screen (brighter, better contrast) Lighter by 0.5oz Android 4.0 (Bionic will get but no confirmed date) 32GB internal memory (vs. 16GB Bionic, although w/ SD card can reach 48GB) Bluetooth 3.0 1.3MP Front-facing camera (Bionic is 0.3MP) NFC
The biggest reasons really are the screen and the instant availability of Android 4.0
And of course Samsung > Motorola

The thing is, I just dont have any reason to switch platforms. If Sprint ever offers another WP7 phone I may move to it (Lumia 8/900?) but I use Honeycomb all the time on my tablets, and used iOS for years. Just really don't miss either. For a phone, Mango really does everything I ever wanted a smartphone to do.

I wasn't asking you to switch, I'm just saying if you're going to make a fair comparison, Evo4G while great 6 months ago is a LOT different than the Galaxy Nexus running ICS. And Honeycomb was pretty much a transitional version of Android, there's a reason why they never released Honeycomb source until Ice Cream Sandwich rolled out.
I like Google Currents too, still figuring out if I want to use Currents or Pulse

Picked up the Galaxy Nexus for 190 through Wirefly by way of Newegg. Definitely like ICS but coming from the galaxy S2 I'm not in love with the hardware. My chief complaints are the more narrow screen (even though it's larger diagonally), the less than stellar battery life and the lower by comparison call volume even through a Bluetooth headset and using speaker phone. Going to give the device a full week or so before making any final decisions. 1/6/2012 12:07:03 AM |

^^pretty much sums it up, it's an awesome tablet, but Honeycomb sucks, they keyboard I swapped out after having it in my hands for 5 minutes (easy fix), and the speaker while singular, is incredibly loud and sounds pretty darn good.... the rest of the tablet is flawless, and of course will only improve on user-experience when ICS comes out for the Prime next week
