could a short person pull off an outfit like this? maybe a short kinda petite person??

i feel like no but i feel like perhaps there is a chance. i just really like these pants but i dunno if my little legs would just be eaten by fabric haha.

BOOOOO. well thanks for answering because i was about to just convince myself to order them and send them back if they didn't fit which is NOT what i need to do.

i found a pic of jessica simpson wearing them and they didn't look good on her so i suppose they wouldn't look good on me, either

I love that dress.. it's so chic. The best thing about it is you can change the entire get-up just by changing the shoes. Picture it with a black pump... then picture it with a red patent leather pump. SEXY!

LOVE that dress! that is definitely something you can wear year round (cardigans and cute jackets in the fall and winter). just make sure the buttons don't pull against your body or it can make the dress look odd.

definitely buy it!

Yeah gurrrrrl, rock dat seersucker

I am waiting the arrival of two bikini bottoms to replace the old and worn ones of my simple black bikini. You could say I've had it for years, but every few I've either replaced the bottom or top from simple wear and tear. One is a regular string bottom and the other is a "cheeky" bottom Sending one of the two back cause I can only afford one. I hope the cheeky one looks okay cause that's the one I want to keep

OH...and who's going to see SATC2 this weekend?? mememememememe

i saw SATC2 with a friend thursday morning at 1045 for $4!!! dang i love a good deal. i enjoyed the movie very much, i felt like it was more like an old episode

aaaand the reason i stopped in...

the pics don't do the color justice. its so pretty!! it looks weird on the model but i am in love. i tried it on in store so i know how it looks on me. its very lightweight, windproof & waterproof. it will be a perfect travel jacket for me and i can also use it to cycle since its bright and lightweight

here is the best part. if you haven't picked up on it in my millions of other posts... im a whore for money saving. i will pinch a damn penny & im damn proud of it. so the jacket retails at rei for $150.

i got it for $119 TOTAL shipped.... from rei

go me

i used my moms 20% off coupon for being a member (you basically get 2, one for in store and one online but no one tells you that. i used the in store one on my vibrams today and the savings replaced my camelbak water bottle that i left on the airplane) and shipping is free for members. to save on tax, im having it shipped to a state where rei doesn't have a store & in turn dont have to charge tax. so im shipping it to the bf in hawaii and will have it in a few weeks. the idiotic shipping to hawaii to save tax saved me $10-- i will take it!

/penny pinching fit

I'm keeping my natural color..dark brown. I rarely dye it especially in the summer because it naturally gets highlights from the sun.

This is my 2nd option.

^those places usually don't carry longs :/

and old navy longs usually aren't long enough. pretty sure american eagle and a&f don't make longs for anything but jeans.

the last time I had to get khakis, I got one pair at the gap and the other are tommy hilfiger from a department store. theory pants are usually pretty long too.

good luck, I feel your pain

Banana Republic also sells longs in everything. You should try the factory store in smithfield. I got a really good pair of blue "khakis" a few weeks ago for $16.

no they don't. only half their pants are available in longs, and a lot of those you have to order online. I'm not sure about the outlet store though.

anyone ever bought BareMinerals off of eBay? It can save a few bucks...I'm just wondering its something that I should be wary about or avoid.

^ i'm interested in the answer to this also. but i'm also interested to hear what people say about mineral makeup (specifically bare minerals). do you use bare minerals? do you like it? is it really as incredible as everyone says? it is my favorite late night infomercial to watch and i want to try it i just don't know ANYONE in real life that uses it.

also hautelook.com and ruelala.com usually have bare minerals on their boutique rotation. i mean you never know what will be offered and its usually eye kits or bronzer kits but you can still get it on the cheap there.

ok but what i came to post about is father's day
what are you ladies getting for your dad?

i'm sick of the usual suspects: a tie, a wallet, a polo shirt, a power tool, giftcard to a restaurant or a home improvement store

i was thinking about something LIKE a pie of the month club (not a full year subscription those shits are expensive)/other food of the month club (i don't know surely there are others - my dad loves pie, so that is why i was thinking pie) OR wine tasting lessons or something? thoughts?

I am trying to finish painting a sign for him for Father's day. I hope I can get it done. It is so weird how he is wanting me to paint Gerber daisies on this sign for him. He is a Harley riding macho man that has a beard down to his collar bone. I love my daddy.

^^ I use it, and I don't think I could ever switch back to a liquid foundation, ever. I have sensitive skin with a T-zone that tends to be oily, so I have to be careful with makeups.

The bareminerals foundation is great, for the most part. I used that until they came out with the matte powder that has less shine than the regular foundation. Most days I like it, sometimes when I sweat, my face gets a little itchy though. But if you find the right color/blend, it looks great. My skin doesn't look flawless like that shit on tv, but it does look good.

I also used the concealer for a while (but for me, the powder concealer doesn't seem to work well), as well as the Prime Time foundation primer, which is very smooth and helps even out the application. The Mineral Veil is supposed to be the finishing touch over the foundation & keep it lasting, but I can't tell much of a difference. I usually only use that when I'm going out or have a date, just for the heck of it.

When I was traveling for vacation, I didn't want to take my bareminerals and have my luggage lost, etc, because its not cheap. So I bought the Maybelline TruMinerals or what not, and it doesn't compare. That felt like rubbing dry red dirt on my face and it wasn't as fine of a powder.

ALSO: If you need a good moisturizer, bareminerals came out with a new one a few months ago and I LOVE IT. It's so light, non-greasy and spreads so well that I had the same bottle for months. RareMinerals Purely Nourishing Mositurizer...it's $32.00, but well worth it IMO, since its fantastic and last for months!

I had my face done up at sephora with bare minerals twice and I did not like it as much as my Neutrogena mineral sheers (sometimes I use the N foundation and mostly I use the N veil, I also use a N mineral sheer illumanizer(sp) as my blush). I have never used BM for a length of time so I can't really say much about it. I love Neutrogena products (face wash and lotions, too) and they are the only kind of make-up that I have used that is very nice to my sensitive skin.

[Edited on June 1, 2010 at 11:06 PM. Reason : N=neutrogen, BM= bare minerals]

Bare Minerals: I went into their boutique at Crabtree a few months back to learn how to apply it and see what it looked like for me compared to what I usually use. First off, it's freaking messy to apply because you have to shake some powder into the lid and then swish with the brush and then tap and product gets everywhere. Not for me. Secondly, there are way too many steps for my liking.

Pros: feels light and makes your skin silky smooth (this is due to the Mineral Veil they sell)
Cons: messy, many steps, not much coverage if you need a fair amount of coverage, all the pieces can be expensive when you add them all up

----

Father's Day: This weekend I went into Bath & Body Works on a whim during my break at work and randomly sprayed their men's cologne on a blotter card. They have one called Ocean and its 3.4 fl oz for $30. It smells exactly like Armani Acqua di Gio (which is incredible, fyi). They had a promotion for Buy 3, Get 3 so I bought 3 of them and then got 1 more of the men's cologne and got 2 women's perfumes (velvet tuberose smelled so good). And with those 2 free women's perfumes due to another promotion I got 2 free full-sized shower gels in the same scent. I did well I think

You can get one year (52 issues) of Star magazine for $5 from Tanga.com

I've used Tanga before for mag subscriptions and never had any problems.

I had a one year subscription to US Weekly that I got last year for $5 but that expired last month. So happy to get to continue my love for celebrity gossip for cheap!

I switched to bareminerals ~6 months ago and I loooooove it. At first it can be messy and take awhile, but with practice I can apply it now with little to no mess and very quickly. I haven't had any makeup related breakouts since the switch...just hormonal breakouts. I purchased the starter kit and am just now getting to the point where I need more (except for the bronzer, mineral veil and primer...which depending on my day and event I may not use any).

i switched years ago to Merle Norman's mineral foundation.

i did a ton of research about mineral makeup and found that most of the itchiness was
attributed to the bismuth in most mineral makeup.

Merle Norman's makeup did not have bismuth in it, and did not make my face itch.

also you get MUCH more product for your money.
