No problem

I was so sad when my US Weekly subscription ran out.

I'm also getting my dad a one year subscription to National Geographic magazine for $10 from Amazon.

yea amazon has some sweet deals too. i thought about the SAME THING for my dad but he already had it

but i got myself a food network mag subscription for <$10 off amazon and country living for <$7. cheap magazines are the shit.

i'd love to find a good deal on the economist. that is the one not retarded magazine i absolutely love (i mean i used to get newsweek and time too, you can get those dirt cheap, but i LOVE the economist). but it is always really expensive sooo i only buy a subscription if i get a killer deal - which is STILL really expensive compared to other magazines.

UGH double post by accident.

well. i guess i can use this one for the text. i'm guilty of watching (and enjoying - whoops!) the twilight movies, but this girl has issues. all she does is whine about her privileged lifestyle. i get being famous isn't easy and can be very irritating and a HUGE intrusion in to personal life. i feel like people definitely go too far prying into the lives of celebrities, but i mean you are the one making the constant conscious choice to engage in a certain lifestyle KNOWING the consequences that come with it. and comparing it to rape? seriously? way to be a role model.

Quote :
"Kristen Stewart says she sometimes can't handle being famous -- and that it's almost like being "raped."

"What you don't see are the cameras shoved in my face and the bizarre intrusive questions being asked, or the people falling over themselves, screaming and taunting to get a reaction," she tells the new issue of Britain's Elle. "The photos are so... I feel like I'm looking at someone being raped.

PHOTOS: Kristen Stewart's style slip-ups

"A lot of the time I can’t handle it," she added. "It’s f***ed. I never expected that this would be my life."

She said it "really bothers me when people write nasty s*** about me and the perception is that I don’t give a f***. It could not be further from the truth."

PHOTOS: Twilight stars - before they were famous

She also said it's "annoying" when she's relentlessly asked if she and costar Robert Pattinson are an item.

Said Stewart, 20: "What I say is, that, why would I want anything that's private to become entertainment for other people? ... People say that if I just tell them everything I’ll be left alone, but God, you think if I tell people they’ll leave me alone? They pick up every little scrap, and that’s much worse.""

when I see Kristen Stewart not behind a camera for a movie, she is visibly awkward and nervous IMO. yes her wording was terrible, but I feel bad for her when I see these teens and moms go crazy over her because it seems obvious to me that she's not comfortable with the confrontation and interviews. she just wants to do her craft. I know she chose the lifestyle, but she's someone I could see getting out of acting--which she's good at and obviously passionate about--because of the rabid fans.

hopefully with practice and time she'll just get better with interviews and be more comfortable with all that comes with this profession...but right now I just feel bad for the girl.

i definitely agree w/ you - i sometimes feel sorry for her because she seems sooooo unhappy/wary of public situations. but she definitely needs a good PR person and a therapist to teach her how to handle the stress in a more eloquent manner. i know she is young but...there are younger stars than her that handle themselves better and i'm sure her (stewart's) issues/concerns/dislike for rabid fans is shared by many in the industry (regardless of age and gender).

she totally DOES seem nervous all the time and i felt bad for her too. its just after reading like 8 articles recently where she just goes on and on and on about the lifestyle and how unhappy she is, i'm just irritated. she's done a bunch of big movies so some sort of hollywood coach/therapist needs to step up and help this girl! she can totally afford it - i mean hopefully she's already seeking help dealing with the stress and if so that is commendable. but if not it reallllly seems like she needs it.

not only is it irritating but her attitude could potentially be damaging to her career. all famous people have had bad interviews and poor word choices. but for her sake and everyone else's she neeeeeeds to get some sort of help/life coach/punching bag that she can pretend are the rabid fans/robert pattinson

p.s. her magazine covers are always really pretty. some people think she looks mousy and/or not feminine enough (i guess traditionally) but i think she's pretty. even when she's doing the grunge thing.

this is from an elle UK photoshoot in the june issue:

Oh I think she's gorgeous! She's got a great look and her photo shoots are stunning

I even love when she rocks a cocktail dress and converses hahaha

yeah, a public speaking coach may help...and you're right; younger actresses (Dakota Fanning comes to mind) are better interviewing than she is. I know they've become friends (oprah tells me so) through twilight and the runaways, so maybe she can give her confidence as a friend.

I hope she sticks around.

side topic...I got a navy striped searsucker jacket from banana on sale today

yea she seems MUCH older than she really is (fanning) and seems to carry herself well so maybe she can give kristen some pointers/confidence.

p.s. jealous of the jacket purchase

I knew she was young but damn, she is 16. She seems to have been around a long time. She is like Jodie Foster and Brooke Shields, and will have a crazy resume by age 20.

How much is the Merle Norman mineral make up.

I did bare minerals but i felt like you had to reapply quite a bit if you wanted your coverage to stay.

Have any of you ladies had a Brazilian Keratin hair treatment? I'm getting one this Sunday for free ($250+ value). Apparently I won't be able to wash my hair OR GET IT WET for three days. But DAMN!

Also, I'm coloring my hair finally ... stick with blonde or go for the Jen Aniston golden brown?

Looks like this version isn't really a Brazilian treatment ... it's Keratin Complex by Coppola, which uses aldehyde instead of formaldehyde.

Also, since this is a free treatment, I don't care if it doesn't last as long.

I looked up BKT and found out this extra about the days after

Quote :
"In addition, for these few days, you can't put your hair into a ponytail, pin it up or even tuck it behind your ears as that will lead to kinks that will stick in your hair. Your hair may be so straight immediately following the treatment that it lacks body, but in time, some volume will return"

I think this would be the hardest part! you also can't exercise because the sweat will ruin it.

let us know how it goes though!

^ I'm a model in a hair show ... hence the free treatment.

^^^ I'll still work out ... just a light workout and if I start sweating, I'll stop. LOL. Lots of weights and elliptical for 3 days.

Also, the really hard part will be resisting the urge to get on the boat. And sunbathe, since that will make me sweat. Bummer!

bad pic of the shoe but its the only one i have. they are gold with a buckle but the leather is snakey. whoops. i kinda like animal things:

(oh and ignore the purse. i needed a big bag to put extra shoes in that don't hurt my feet hahaha. and that was the biggest i had. i don't usually do purses but. whoops)
