dude i canceled gamefly earlier this year because of this same shit - if you send games back to fast they will put a hold on your queue and make you think something is wrong in the mail, when they just have not sent the game out. but, gamefly will save you a lot of money.
honestly, i am seriously considering switching to gameznflix

I really want a good RPG for Xbox. I already have Oblivion for the PC, so I don't need that. I need something like a KOTR III or something along those lines. 10/24/2006 1:28:14 PM |

Are you serious? I thought the same but it was the biggest waste of money... horrible characters, horrible voice acting, horrible plot... uhg and don't get me started on the gay dude. I played 20 hours forcefully, and finally just traded it back in towards GoW.10/24/2006 5:01:52 PM |

Yeah I wish I had rented it, but it was an impulse buy.
I honestly thought a 5 yr old could have written a better story though, and while I enjoyed the battle system, 1/2 the time I just ended up using the auto-attack feature because there were do many random battles. 10/24/2006 5:06:41 PM |
TreeTwista10 minisoldr 148441 Posts user info edit post |
oh yeah i definitely used the "auto" attack as much as i could except for the final bosses
reminded me a little of the Breath of Fire games (turn based RPG) so i got it
story was pretty weak and there was too much dialogue but you could just keep hitting Green and skip through
tiger woods and tony hawk demos both look nice...probably have to trade in tiger 06 and tony hawk american wasteland for the new ones
*also there is some support skill you can equip later in the game called 'Encounter Evade'
avoids all random battles...good stuff

Quote : | " EA selling in-game money for Godfather 360 Slate of new offerings for mob-movie-based game lets players unlock weapons and thugs, as well as the in-game money to actually purchase them for use. By Brendan Sinclair, GameSpot Posted Oct 24, 2006 10:07 am PT
Electronic Arts has released its first wave of downloadable content for the Xbox 360 version of The Godfather, and gamers are likely to find the offer at hand a little more refusable than the ones that normally come from Don Corleone.
Xbox Live director of programming Larry "Major Nelson" Hryb details the new slate of downloads on his blog, and a couple of items stand out from the pack. First of all, the $50,000, $100,000, and $250,000 in-game money packs each increase the player's bankroll at the cost of 40 Microsoft points ($0.50), 75 Microsoft points ($0.94), and 150 ($1.88) Microsoft points, respectively. Each pack can only be downloaded once. Virtually impoverished gamers may be drawn to download the packs, as the Xbox 360 version of The Godfather apparently lacks the cheat code for free money that can be found in the PC, PlayStation 2, Xbox, and PlayStation Portable versions of the game.
Player who need something to spend their downloaded money on can then pick up five different weapon packs for 100 points ($1.25) a pop that each open up the ability for the player to purchase one high-powered weapon from a specific in-game arms dealer. That power comes at a price, however, as the most expensive of the weapons, the level 4 Tommy Gun, will set players back $750,000 in-game. For 250 Microsoft points ($3.13), gamers can add the hired assassin to their list of employable crew members. However, the assassin still has to be paid $10,000 in-game to join up.
Other downloadable Godfather content released today includes a free MobFace apparel bundle available for a limited time that includes two hats, two glasses, and a leather jacket. There's also a Favor Pack for 250 points ($3.13) that adds three favor missions to the game, provided the player has fulfilled in-game prerequisites.
Finally, gamers interested in the whole cannoli can download The Don Collection for 800 points ($10) and get all of the released content at a discount of 465 points ($5.81). A Level 4 Weapons Bundle-which includes all five of the weapon downloads--is also available for 400 points ($5). " |

saints row massive update
Quote : | "General # Enabled 4xAA (anti-aliasing) for 480i standard-def and 480p resolutions (was 2xAA). # Enabled 4x anti-aliasing during initial player creation screen. # Added player options to enable v-sync during cutscenes and/or gameplay, with warning that it will affect framerate. # Fixed widescreen formatting issues in certain resolutions. # Fixed issue where button icons would sometimes not appear during tagging activity. # Fixed problem where camera could rapidly rotate around player when exiting vehicle. # Added dialog reminding player to save before final mission in the game. # Fixed rare crash bugs due to variants and fast shader constants. # DLC - Car dealership now skips paint selection for car if the car has no color data. # Fixed issue when signing out of a gamer profile on The Wheel Woman unlock screen. # Added missing audio tracks to music stores, including "Pickin' Boogers" # Added long sideburns and four other missing hairstyles to Shear Intensity salons
Multiplayer # Improvements to the way the game handles packet loss and bandwidth management between players. This addresses issues commonly cited as "lag", and general synchronization problems between the players' clients (vehicles/players warping around, etc). # Various bandwidth optimizations. # Fixed connection issues with gang servers (done server-side, update not required). # The system for rating a player's quality-of-service has been improved, and made less conservative. This means you'll see many more matches with 10-12 player limits. # Fixed "clothes stealing" exploit. Stolen clothes will be deleted, legit clothes will be unharmed. # Various changes to Matchmaking phase, to get players in the game faster. # Team-based, non-Gang games are now required to have even teams. Gang matches still allowed to be off-by-one to allow easier matchmaking, since single people cannot be matched-in. # Fixed issue that could cause the Blinged Out Ride vehicle to get stuck inside the garage when the driver disconnects. # Fixed crash that could happen during server migration. Fixed rank reporting errors in Leaderboards for Team Gang Brawl and Team Big Ass Chains. # Fixed problem where end of games stats display could be improperly sorted. # Fixed issue in server migration where statistics would not be properly updated for the newly elected server. # Fixed issue where incorrect server was elected for game size. # Fixed issue where car could get stuck in a chop shop or get pushed out of the level and destroyed. # Added caching to pimp hat and multiplayer chains to reduce delay when they are loaded. # Fixed problem where PC could become bald after importing from single- player savegame. # Fixed problem where multiplayer garages had problems with client vehicles colliding at the entrance with an invisible mesh mover. # Item sync improvements. # Fixed problem that could prevent twelve people from getting into a match due to not having enough security associations. # Points stored in Big Ass Chains are now being reset between games. # Fixed issue where gang stats retrieval could fail and not be retried. # Addressed "standby" hack where a player would temporarily disconnect their network connection to move around without others seeing them. # The proper number of custom vehicle choices now appears for the Hustlin multiplayer level. # Gang sizes limited to 100 members. # Fixed cases where gangs match but not all players get into the game. Only servers with sufficient bandwidth are selected to host a match. # Fixed bug where multiplayer garages had problems with client vehicles colliding against unseen geometry. # Big Ass Chains points scored stats are now reset between games. # Fixed bug where player would have pipebombs in inventory but would not be able to throw them. # Fixed problem in Protect Tha Pimp where a player would respawn at the beginning of a round in observer mode. # DLC - Always display name of level server has selected, even if client does not have that level downloaded." |

I just recently purchased a 360 because I felt it was a waste owning a nice HD tv playing PS2 on it. I really like the system now, surprisingly however it has taken some time getting used to the controller versus the PS2 version.
I have a couple questions and comments.
-Has anyone tried GamezNFlix? I guess it's like Gamefly but you can rent movies too. Was thinking about trying it out but wanted to see if anyone else had an opinion.
-I have 2 games that were scratched, is there any way to repair them or maybe have new ones replaced from the manufacturer?
-Last thing is a comment...does Microsoft make a ton of money or what? They charge an arm and a leg for the system, games and accessories (granted it costs a lot to make this stuff)...and then charge for online use (granted running these servers can't be cheap)....then charge you to purchase Market Points to DL games and stuff. Is it me or are we too rich for our own good? I'm mean I make good money now but I have a Cell, Cable, Internet, Sirius Radio, 360 account and also play WOW and thinking of doing the online rental thing. I guess if I was smoking, drinking, and go out every weekend it would probably be the same amount of money but man we live life pretty good IMO.
This was strictly an opinionated comment but I thought I'd bring it up.

basically no, they wont take back games or anything, only place that will is ebgames if you bought like a scratched disc warranty for the game when you bought it...you could try one of those disc scratch removers?

i have had no problem letting them charge $400 for the system and $60 for games, thats nothing really compared to the crap sony is trying to pull. as far as charging for xbox live arcade games and marketplace points, i dont have a problem with that either, thats all optional stuff. lastly, paying for xbox live doesnt bother me at all since its service is superior over anything that sony has put out.10/31/2006 1:53:44 PM |

A problem I had was when espn came out with all of those games that were $19.99 and it pissed off all the other companies because they couldn't make as much money
You can only make so much profit
that being said, I will own an xbox 360 this xmas along with 3 or 4 games, subscription to xbox live, and probably a subscription to either gamefly or gamezwhatever so I don't have to pay $8 a game to rent at BB

Here's a tip to anybody who owns a 360 if they don't already know this
I have had my 360 for about a year and began buying the ~$3 warranties because some of my games would get scratched for seemingly no reason, and $3 isn't much when you're already paying $60 plus tax...but one thing a worker at EB Games told me, which I have begun to do and it really helps, is when you are done playing a game...don't just turn off the 360...first go to the Dashboard...apparently if you are playing a game and cut it off, the disc motor immediately stops spinning and it drops the disc...the disc is still spinning, so it ends up coming to a stop from the friction of the disc tray...apparently if you go to the Dashboard first, it "properly" spins down the disc...if the scratches you have had are in a circular pattern, chances are something like this happens...only drawback is if a game locks up, you cant really go to the Dashboard...also don't really move the console while a game/movie is being played but that should go without saying11/1/2006 5:12:18 PM |
