i installed the charok grand hall mod (awesome, and doesn't give you an advantage or disadvantage either way in terms of gameplay) so that i'd have a place to store my stuff...but then i got bored with going there, and so now i just store all my excess stuff in the basement that you get access to when you become the gray fox

yeah I use the mansion that i killed the necromancer in at Anvil for storing all my magical shit.

I need all that money to recharge all my fucking magical items. I have a sword of soul trap but its honestly a pain in the ass.

I just never bothered recharging my weapons. BRUTE FORCE, BITCHES!!!

Anyway, yeah, I bought a house, but houses are pretty easy to come by with quests in towns. That's what I don't get about this game. You can earn mad loot, buy lots of nice houses and furnish the hell out of them, and become pretty much the pimpest, most powerful person in the whole nation... but with all that you can't mack the ladies. Where's the realism?

maybe you should buy fable heh. but yeah i just used brute force too (though it is a lot easier with a fire/frost/shock proc).

I mean... if you have the difficulty set way high, then maybe. Otherwise, you need a more powerful weapon, or higher weapon skill.

use more power attacks or get the sword enchanted. I don't have a single weapon in my inventory that isn't magical and charged up. Stockpile soul gems. (You can just take them from the mages guild if you're a member or an arch-mage like me )

Deputydog:

When you capture a soul, it stores it in an available soul gem in your inventory. When you "equip" a loaded soul gem, you can use the soul to recharge a magical item.

You can also use the soul gems to create magical items at the arcane university if you've been inducted there. Chironosium I think its called. Also, if you do the quest to find the star of azura, KEEP IT. Its a soul gem that isn't consumed after you use it to recharge an item.

yeah its awesome.

The next trick is to enchant an item with soul trap and shock/ice/heat (I prefer shock personally) so while you're beating down your enemies you automatically recharge azura's star. so you kill 3 or 4 guys, recharge your weapon, beat down a couple more, recharge... you'll never run out of power for your magical items. Also be sure to repair your magical swords and stuff with a repair hammer, I often forget to do that.

just play as one char and do the main quest and nothing else. it is insanely easy like that unless you just suck at games.

is there an extremely badass weapon or armor that could help that you get when you get rly high in the ranks of the fighters or mages guild?

i'm tryin to work my way up the fighters guild right now, i'm at the top of the thieves and the dark brotherhood, i got kicked out of the mages guild, and now i have 1 redwort flower or w/e out of 20 of those and 20 dragon tongue things to get back in

i also have 6 out of 10 ninroot things, is the potion you can get when you get ten of those as good and helpful as this guy makes it out to be?

the potion is alright but not that helpful. it is like a +X to hp and nightvision for quite a few minutes (dont remember exactly). i never used it.

as far as mage/fighters guild you get pretty much 0 armor. you get a weapon now and then in the fighters guild and a pretty cool helmet at the end, but thats it as far as i can recall.

theres a grand ring of firewalking that will allow you to walk on lava.

but I didn't get it until after the main quest.

with the proper amount of healing potions/spells, you can walk across the lava in the grand oblivion gate and save yourself a shit load of time.

i know it's been out for 10 days, and yes, i'm just now posting it, but DAMMIT if this patch doesn't fix my cheydinhal recommendation issue (the last one was supposed to, but it didn't), then i'm going to be really really REALLY...annoyed, i suppose

Heres some random info I found. Of course after you pick stuff if you check back a few days later it will have grown back. Also I think even though they say you need 20 each you only need like 10 maybe???? I thought I read that somewhere. Just remember to save often and dont save after you go on a rampage

Has anyone tried deleting older game save files???? does it affect your recent saves?? The other day my xbox "lost" some of my recent saves and I was wonderin if it was cause i had too many. I think Im up to 452 saves I've always clicked "overwrite" file but it always made a new one.
Also My game is starting to get a little sluggish. does anyone know if clearin out the cache helps??

they say clearing the cache works to help speeds, particularly in outdoor areas. id imagine having 500 individual saves might be a pain too. theres obviously something you are missing if it isnt overwriting (i only had like 6-7 save games for my 3 chars, but have done multiple hundred as well).

Yea it is but sometimes its hard deciding what all I want to do next. I'm level 20 but I am not very far in the main quest. I also haven't finished the Kavitch quest either. They may be connected in someway but they show up as different quests. I need to find better armor. Ive been using my grand champion armor I got off that guy after winning the area quests. It worked well and had some good enchaments but I was only up to an armor level of 20 and thats mainly because the shield I got is cool and reflects 25% damages back. Ive collected a few other pieces of armor but my guy looks ragged using different varieties. I hadnt found one daedra thing.

i wouldnt feel too bad. my warrior used that arena armor for a long time as well. the armor rating isnt great, but the stats really help. i think i traded it off for some dwarven/orcish just to look better at the time. you wont get daedra armor until a little later in the game.

Yeah, although getting a full set of daedra armor then enchanting it with sigil stones and grand soul gems will make you very disgusting.

Re. Picking locks - Not sure if anyone has said this, but if you don't have the skeleton key the easiest way to pick a lock is to listen. Every time you press a tumbler up it makes a sound. You will hear a different and distinct sound for each attempt in which the tumbler will come down slowly. It's almost easier to do it with your eyes closed.

I decided to do all the guilds before the main quest so I'm only up to the 1st oblivion gate. Where is the good armor that everyone is talking about? The enemies only drop hearts and crappy swords, maybe some fire salt. The pods only have gold. I searched the first gate from top to bottom, I don't think I saw one piece of armor.
