Thats true-- the only difference is the cover. "International Editions" are the American textbook publishers way of staying competitive in the foreign markets since most foreign textbooks cost $20-50. They are printed on the same press, almost always on the same paper, and in the same factories as our so-called "American" Editions (Hardcover), they just slap a paperback cover on them and sell them for half the price overseas.

I've purchased numerous international editions in several disciplines, its a nice way to save money when you must have the newest edition. If the newest edition is not necessary, try using online bookstores like http://www.betterworld.com/ who specialize in cheap (usually $5-10) past editions with free shipping-- they are also an advocate for global literacy and are a non-profit organization.
