I'm curious. Has anyone tried any of those crazy hoodia and other weight loss products? I eat healthy and exercise like a mad woman but just don't feel like I'm getting the results I want. I'm wondering if you do it right, the product could actually work?

I really doubt any of them work. Just because you eat right and work out a lot doesn't mean you'll lose weight. You may need to change up your workout routine and find something else that works for you.

For most people it should, unless you suffer from a genetic disorder. Otherwise, it's lack of discipline and consistency. If you burn more calories than you consume, you'll lose weight.

or you'll reset your BMR.

Hoodia is an appetite suppressant, but its sale is completely unregulated. You have absolutely no way of knowing there is actually hoodia in the product you're buying. Hoodia is an endangered species that only grows in parts of Africa, so just how much do you really think is available to be putting in fad diet pills? I bet 99% of the hoodia on the market the last 2 years are something else entirely, like synephrine or just a placebo. Either you're buying something bogus or you're buying a mislabeled product that is 5 times cheaper under the correct label.

My personal trainer said it's 75% diet. Change your eating ways and the pounds will melt off.

Ha I believe him, I was stuck at fifteen pounds and started falling off the tracks, going out too much, once I got strict those five melted right off.

He thinks we could do another twenty by July if we're really strict....We shall see!

He also said we're getting married....I was like WHAT? So I don't know how credible he is.

Eventually you gotta mix it up, and cut your caloric intake even more. That'll get you through the plateau.

Woohoo good job!

My pants are fitting even better than they have before!

Is my cardio being mixed up enough if I continue to increase the resistance every few weeks and mix the speeds up during the workout even though it's still on the elliptical?

if you're getting results, then don't worry about changing up your cardio equipment. increasing the resistance should be enough to make you lose weight and increase your VO2 max.

VO2 max?

I am seeing results, just thought maybe I could see more faster if I mix it up.

it's hard to lose weight when you have a birthday and your best friend makes you an oreo cake and your coworker brings in lemon squares, chocolate chip cookie squares, orange cookies, and some devilish chocolate thing with white icing

I pretty much hate running. It's my least favorite exercise and one I'd like to avoid at most costs.

Running hurts my boobies.

I like to walk though.

I am getting tired of not losing any.....

I am doing the elliptical for 40-90 minutes a night then 100+ sit ups and other ab-exercises...

And I am stuck at 15 pounds lost....

Do I really have to diet? I mean C'MON!!! I gave up soft drinks and only drink water and alcohol (every two weeks or something) ACK!!!!

FRusTRaTION!!!

Describe a day in your food world. you may just need to change one thing.

Increase the weight so you force new muscles to grow which will eventually cause more calories to be burned.

Fuck I didn't realize I learned so much through all of this. In my experience the dieting sucked for like two months, now I don't see it as a burden. I like the way good foods make me feel and only enjoy naughty items rarely and am satisfied with it. It's not so bad!

Breakfast-

Two quaker rice snacks = 100 calories.

Lunch-

Peanut butter or chicken pattie sandwich on wheat bread and chicken noodle soup.

Dinner-

BIG usually. lol

And then I have a ton of mini cadbury eggs that I sneak from Easter.

Get rid of the rice snacks and eat something that will actually fill you up!

I have a heeping bowl of cereal, rice krispies, with skim milk and that keeps me full for a while!

If you use condiments cut them out. Work on portion size, don't eat such a huge meal at once, and do smaller snacks more frequently!

Baby steps.

The only condiment I use is ketchup...

I really don't eat that many calories a day...

I'm probably around 1200-1400 per day... maybe? lol

ME too, sometimes less because I'm jsut not hungry. Oh that was another question I had, if I don't eat enough calories but still workout and such will I continue to burn fat and not switch over to muscle? I can't eat when I'm not hungry, the stomach hurts.

If it's not your diet up your workout.

And I told her... "well it wasn't telling me that 3-5 years ago" hahaha

My muscles hurrrrrrrrrt.

I can do lunges properly now with my back knee nearly touching the ground.

My shoulders SUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCCCCCCCCCCK. I ALWAYs struggle with shoulder exercises and barely get 15 reps in. I don't see much improvement either. What's the deal? What can I do at home to improve them? Use like a heavy candle and do the exercises or what? ha I did that yesterday...

I didn't work out yesterday because my legs have been tired all week. They feel much better today and so tonight I will work out because I have bowling league and then I will do my workout routine after that.

dinner is the worst meal to eat a lot... breakfast - lunch should be your major meals, with dinner being a small snack...

not sure what its exactly called...

i do some power cleans but i just dont extend my arms in the last phase.

i just go up to my shoulder (right under the chin).

and a lot of other exersices like grabbing dumbells and putting them down to your side and just lifting your shoulders up and down.

some people have it, some dont. i know people who work more than others to get nice shoulders and other who dont really have to work them specifically.

Apparently I don't have it because they're always a struggle and my personal trainer always has to help me.

My arms are damn nice and toned though.

Yeah I know about the food thing...

The legal nurse at work told me that you should eat like a King for breakfast, a Queen for lunch and a pauper for dinner (she is losing weight too) but I can't seem to make myself do that...

I do the opposite.

95 lbs lost, 5 to go!

i typically eat:
large breakfast (eggs, turkey sausage, toast, OJ/milk)
some form of chicken for lunch - usually chick-fil-a nuggets
dinner is usually a salad - try not to eat many calories in the evening
snacks are like a string cheese, half PB sammich, yogurt, ZONE bar

i've been working on those last 5 lbs for 6 months. i do cardio and weightlifting each twice a week. i don't think i have it in me.

ugh, my routine is slipping too. I think it's because I hurt my back a while ago and it's never really healed up right.

Paging Dr. TWW

Whats a good way to encourage the muscle group right under my right shoulder blade to stop being stupid and heal up so I can go back to working out like I used to?

It's a dull burning pain that isn't affected by how I move it. elp!
