They are coming out with a animated Batman dvd July 8th with 6 different stories kind of like the Animatrix that should seem pretty sweet.

Anyone know where I could find episodes of Batman the Animated Series or is it even offered on DVD?

This may be a mute point now, but I am curious as to why they settled on casting Christian Bale as bruce/batman.

IMO, he is not that great of an actor nor is he that handsome. I would think that it could have been Jude Law FTW.

Any thoughts?

i personally would have cast thomas jane as bruce wayne

but that'd have been awkward with aaron eckhart playing two-face, since the two look goddamn identical

[Edited on June 21, 2008 at 10:19 PM. Reason : jane's angry punisher voice >>>> bale's batman voice]

Christian Bale is the best Bruce Wayne I've seen. MILES better than fucking Clooney. Yeeugh.
Once again, talking about alternative casting choices, my vote was in to just cast Mark Hamil as Joker and CGI over how old the fucker is, but NO, they had to go for someone who apparently could portray an unstable psycho pretty well...
Oh wait.

I was wrong when i said that he was not handsome. Of course he is big, and that does indeed fit the comic role

um...bale is a great bruce/batman. Jude Law would be a TERRIBLE batman, he is the opposite of masculinity. Do you want a sniveling, scrawny, batman?

^^According to a recent interview with Wall Pfister, the cinematographer, all of the action sequences were filmed for IMAX, and IMAX is how he and Nolan recommend seeing it.

And he also specifically advised against seeing it at a theater with digital projection. Something about the colors not being optimized for digital.

Yeah, all of the action scenes and the first scene in which the Joker is revealed were all filmed with IMAX.

Sounds cool.

Well based on that article, West likely wasn't a fan of the 1989 movie. He doesn't bash the movie so much as he says he prefers the way they did things in 60s.

Maaaaaan, I got a bad feeling their site is gonna be on the skids tonight and orders won't be able to be processed. I just tried buying some tickets for some of the other movies they are offering and it didn't go through.
It said this: "We are sorry. We are experiencing technical difficulties while attempting to reserve your tickets."

Probably just pissed he doesn't get to have a cameo like all the other comic or tv show based movies of late.
